We visited for the Versus Rodin exhibition. This gallery has the most Rodin sculptures of any gallery in the S. Hemisphere and they were displayed in contrast to modern and contemporary pieces. The presentation, staging and lighting were fantastic and an enormous amount of thought had obviously gone into this incredible exhibition The rest of the gallery is extensive and... More

The no-cost gallery was very close to the hotel where we were staying, and so it was convenient to visit. It is housed in an impressive building, which is worth seeing itself, and there are some lovely and intriguing art pieces (both Australian and International). We watched a film with Kate Blanchett, called 'Red' about an Australian spider, which was... More

As regional museums go (sorry for calling this 'regional') this ain't no Louvre........ It would be a mistake, though, to just walk in and out and 'tick the box'. This art gallery is very, very well set up. The collection is displayed by theme, cutting across the time and regional lines, mixing the contemporary with the historic, and this works... More

I really enjoyed wandering around the Art gallery, of course I got lost but that's just me, I can get lost almost anywhere :) I loved the old paintings of times gone by and the frames were beautiful as well ! Also loved the details on the wooden furniture. I feel a tiny bit more educated now lol

I was enchanted by this small yet exciting art gallery.... It's set out is cultured and welcoming. It fits in perfectly to the calm atmosphere of Adelaide . The gallery is very accessible and a pleasure to wander around. The cafe has a lovely outside area to sit and chat about what was enjoyable.

An excellent example of a modern museum. Well though-out rooms with many displays having explanatory text to help people engage with the works. The thematic rooms for the European section were a triumph and my kids enjoyed it a lot. Friendly and engaging staff.

We visited this lovely art gallery last week and spent 3 hours there enjoying the art and the wonderful objects that are housed in it. The building interior doesn't disappoint with skylights high in the ceilings. Café was good too.

had the pleasure of visiting several art galleries in different states, this is one of the better ones. great exhibits, taking you into bygone eras. enjoyed my time here, especially love that piece with planes floating on the river. give it a visit when you are in adelaide. worth a visit.
