The claims it’s a short and easy walk on boardwalks is misleading at best.
To get to the start of the “short walk” requires climbing a series of steep uneven stone & sand staircases. The short walk to the beach is 750m each way (after the stairs) and while it is board walk it isn’t flat but a series of up and down stairs that lead to the back of a very soft sanded shade less beach. I had my 2 1/2 year old and it took us 25 mins to walk the boardwalk.
There’s no shade or shelter on the beach (which was cold, windy & raining when we went but it was winter) so we stayed <10 minutes then had to carry my exhausted kid back to the other beach where the boats pick up & drop off.
It’s really not worth it.

We extended our day trip from Hamilton Island to the Inlet. We were dropped in the shallows which were really warm and there were lots of rays swimming around. The trek up to the 3 viewing platforms was through bush and there were lots of golden orb spiders to be seen and lizards.
Take plenty of bottled water as it’s a decent walk but the views are epic.
We were stunned by the views and couldn’t take enough photos. The viewing platforms give a view over the whole inlet. Probably the most beautiful place I’ve ever been, totally worth the journey from the UK.

Save your money and stay at your hotel. It’s a hot beach with little to no shade unless a cabana is rented that must be assembled yourself.

We were dropped off the other side of the island and took the short 15-minute walk up to the viewing platforms, once there you get absolutely fantastic views of the beaches and surrounding area, to add to Joniquelife comments about the changes please see the attached photos which were taken about an hour apart

It was stunning and we can't stop looking at the pictures we took. The 220 steps was not always easy in the heat, but it was worth getting there. We had a 2 hour stop during our tour, so time enough to walk in our own tempo.

What a great lookout to view Hill Inlet from the lookout walk that originates in Tongue Bay. It’s an easy walk to the lookout and the beach right on Hill Inlet.

This is a short little walk from the beach with a lookout overlooking this amazing landscape with ever shifting sands. We were told that every photo was unique because the sands shift and change every hour so you will never capture the exact photo twice... mind blowing 🤯
Pictures cannot even do justice to the beauty of this view, has to be seen to be believed 🤩

We did an Ocean Rafting (fantastic!) tour which included the walk up to Hill Inlet Lookout! WOW 🤩 The view is absolutely out of this world!! Don’t think you could get a better ‘beach’ view anywhere in the world!! It’s a relatively easy walk (even got toilets there)!! No filter required!!! Sublime!!

After a reasonable climb up structured stairs, covered by often loose gravel (wear footwear), you arrive at the first of 2 platforms.
As amazing as that view is, it gets even better at the second platform.

Batt Reef is off Port Douglas which is no where near Hill Inlet. Why didn't you google it before putting a posting on here?

Whitehaven Xpress caters for toddlers well in an enclosed vessel with outdoor seating also - family owned.
Also Cruise Whitsundays has larger vessels and is god for toddlers.

Hello, we are a belgian family with 3 small kids, we love to travel around the world with our family. We would like to visit the whitsundays with a several day tour, but not the very tourist boats neither the very expensive private yachts. What would be the best option thanks !!!

Hello, Sarah, Airlie Beach is a small and cozy place that offers at least two unforgettable walks: the great barrier reef, lasting eight hours with meals included. The platform where the boat is for the dives is safe (no scale) and there is a huge team of highly trained attendants to provide any assistance. The area reserved for children is very well marked. Opasseio sai em torno de 120 euros.
Another interesting ride is the Camira, a boat that leaves from Airlie Beach, passes through Hamilton Island and continues until Whitsunday Islands, walk to Hill Inlet. The arrival to the most beautiful beach in the world has medium degree of difficulty, as we climbed many stone stairs, where there is a splendid landscape in the middle of the path. Then we descend to the deserted beach (there are no spaces with sun protection, except a tree, take hats and sunscreen.) When you get back to the boat, you get to the sea for diving. Search "cruisewhitsundays" in Google.
If you have a little more time, visit Brisbane, a charming city, where there is a must see for children: Lone Pine Coal Shrine with river cruise through The ride is about 50 euros. Have a good trip.

can any one tell me which month of year is best to visit Australia i am from India

It depends. The summer is quite crowded and I’ve heard it can get pretty hot. I visited Sydney in the fall and the temperature was perfect. We also visited the Whitsunday islands and an employee told us that winter is usually best for those islands.
