A stroll along the Marina is just what the doctors ordered. Specially at dusk. The Sunset is a view to remember. Enjoy a drink on the benches or a nice coffee in the morning. Plenty of buggy parking spots though it was busy time of...More

Visited on Saturday 22nd September. We were on a cruise from Airlie Beach to Whitehaven Beach and called in here to pick up more passengers. What a way to arrive at Hamilton Island.

Palm trees, yachts, gorgeous harbor with golf cart traffic and super good restaurants. Stay at the Reef View Hotel where cockatoos will visit your balcony.

We flew into Hamilton Island but were staying on Airlie Beach. As soon as we landed, it was really easy to grab our suitcases, check into the ferry port and get on our ferry to Airlie.

The marina has everything - scenery, tours, shopping, chemist, post office, golf club, yacht club, ice - creamery, bakery, restaurants and bars. The island's free shuttles either go here or nearby and it's a lovely walk from the resort area.

The size of the marina surprised us as only 500 people live on the island. Most of them must own a yacht. The surrounding area has all the shops, restaurants, grocery stores etc. Lots of cockatoos flying around.
