Went to Fraser Island on the 25th of May as part of the nature tour . The Creek was so clear, you can swim here.

The walk from Central Station along the creek is 1.8km and a real treat. The water is incredible. At first glance I thought it was a white growth on the surface but when I got closer I could see that it was the sand bottom. How magical - almost like something out od the Lord of the Rings.

This natural wonder is the main reason for visiting Central Station. The water that trickles over the sometimes green tinted white silica sand is so clear that you need to look closely to see that it is there. Just amazing. Leave the bloody crowd or noisy people, let go some guides (of other tours) going through the motions. Sit or stay, relax, enjoy.

With the construction of a boardwalk alongside makes a walk alongside Wanggoolba Creek a pleasant experience. The water is crystal clear as you meander amongst palms and other plants right up to Central Station.

Visited Wanggoolba Creek as part of a day tour of Fraser island. We stopped at Central Station and had an hour to walk around the gentle paths through the forest and to the creek. Was amazing to see (or rather hear) that, due to the soft sand in the creek bad, the river makes no noise, even though it is... More
