Could not recommend this tour enough! Truly a once in a lifetime experience. Mark is so passionate and respectful of the island and a fantastic tour guide, both making sure we had fun but also teaching us about the island and the Butchella people, ensuring to respect their tradition, culture and history. The weather wasn’t great but Mark and Doug kept spirits high and didn’t allow the rain to stop us swimming in lakes, creeks and seeing all sorts of beautiful locations on the island. The beach hut accommodation was perfect- allowing us to have hot showers and be sheltered from the rain. And don’t even get me started on the food! Every day we had a hearty breakfast, a diy wrap station for lunch, with proteins like soya, ham, chicken, falafel and each dinner was cooked lovingly and was simply delicious! The cars themselves were in pristine condition, really clean and great fun to drive. I am so so so glad that I didn’t go with any other tour because it simply cannot have been to the same standard. Mark, Hana, Doug and the other staff went above and beyond- even bought us chips one day to go with our lunch, gave us hot water bottles when we were cold and wet and even took our wet towels to the launderette to dry! The level of care that goes in to these tours and our experience is second to none. Thank you so much- we will never forget this trip!…

The K’Gari Fraser Island 4wd adventure was a trip of a lifetime. Our incredible guide Hana showed us the island that holds her heart and shared Dreamtime stories from the Butchulla people who have been the guardians of K’Gari for 40,000 years. From the tea tree oil infused Lake Allom to paddle-boarding on the crystal blue waters of Lake Boorangoora (Lake McKenzie), our group of 20 backpackers from all over the world had a blast. We stayed in beautiful lodgings at Eurong Beach Retreat, where 6 shared a hostel style room and the whole group shared communal style meals, which helped us bond over the weekend. The food was healthy, delicious and bountiful so we had lots of food to fuel us through the action packed days. There were alternatives for those of with dietary needs and preferences. Everyone in the group had the opportunity to drive the 4wd trucks on the 75 mile beach and in the bush, bumping along secluded gravel roads while singing karaoke. Even though it was a short trip we packed a lot in, including the Champagne Pools, which are beautiful rock pools at the north end of the beach, and sand-boarding on the sand dunes. K’Gari is a natural wonder, as it is the largest sand island in the world and it even boasts rainforests! All in all, I had an amazing weekend, met incredible people and was shown the beauty of K’Gari by a passionate guide who is invested in sustainable ecotourism so we can protect the island for future generations. Thank you Hana and the volunteers at the Beach Retreat!…

Unreal! Could not have asked for a better guide than Troy who was full of information and stories about the island and it’s people as he grew up there. Sofia and the team at the accommodation were amazing and definitely made sure we were well fed. After doing a sky dive and swimming in the Great Barrier Reef I wasn’t sure that this would even come close but genuinely think this experience is up there or even tops them both. This was purely down to the way that we were shown all the different parts of the island and the atmosphere created by Troy, Sophia and the team. Overall a brilliant experience and would if you’re planning on going to K’gari (fraser island) definitely choose the guided tour with these guys.…

This was by far my favorite part of our east coast trip. Met an amazing group of people and enjoyed every minute of everyday. Kgari Island is absolutely beautiful and thanks to Troy we got to see so many different parts of it. It was also lovely hearing of the islands history from Troy - great to have a tour guide that cares deeply for the island and it’s people. Both Troy and Sofia went above and beyond for all of us and made it an unforgettable experience. Not one bad word to say about the trip!! Would recommend everyone to do this at some stage!…
