Jarrad, our Tour Guide, was the best information giver!! We learnt about the Flora, the Fauna and the Island's history, as well as seeing and learning about those giant trees!! Well worth the walk!

Even the most simple, short walk along the boardwalk at Central Station is enough to show why Fraser Island is World Heritage-listed, the water is so clear you can hardly see it and the rainforest is amazing, My family and i felt so lucky to be able to explore at our leisure, but a guided tour to learn more about it would be great too.

It is not often you can’t take photographs of the water but it as so clear you couldn’t see the water in places. The boardwalk is a comfortable walk, and the surrounding sights are once again amazing.

A walk through this area on the boardwalk and paths gives you a greater understanding as to why this island is so special and why it should be conserved at all cost.

Central Station Rainforest is a great walk you are mainly walking on a boardwalk where you see many aged trees which are huge! There is a beautiful creek that runs through the forest which is a great site to see. There is a lot of history hear and you can read about it on different plaques along the way.

There are some beautiful walks around Central Station and it’s a must stop when on Fraser. The Pile Valley walk we did, starts by following Wanggoolba Creek on timber boardwalks and is a 6km loop, or thereabouts. The walk times are very conservative and it only took us just over an hour for this walk.

This one is really for the nature lover and is quite stunning. We saw fish in the silent stream as well beautiful bird life. The rangers have done a magnificent job of the walk and should be congratulated. There are clean toilets here and a lovely place for a picnic. Stop and listen and you cannot hear this stream running at all. Crazy!

No visit to Fraser Island is complete without a visit to Central Station. We drove there and enjoyed a BBQ in the picnic area followed by a short easy walk along a Chrystal clear creek. The lush rainforest completes the experience ... a definite must do.
