Fantastic place to spend a few hours. Suitable for all. Close to the strand and many restaurants. Parkland and play areas for children, plenty of shady areas also. Plenty of BBQs and picnic areas with wide open spaces for the kids to run free. Toilets...More

This was touted as a great extension to Townsville's Strand and while there is very nice landscaping, outdoor art and walking paths there is NO SHADE so I suggest a late afternoon visit or very early visit.

Another great place to spend an early morning or late afternoon. There are lots of walking tracks that zig zag through with well place seating so you can sit and enjoy the view.

This is a great small walk to take in the view of Magnetic Island. There is also lots to see about the history of the barracks and what happened during the war and Townsville's contribution.

Was impressed with the military information about the Garrison City of Townsville. So much I was not aware of.

Great place for a walk, plenty of sculptural art instalments, not to mention fantastic views from many points. The boardwalk is a highlight, plenty of history to read as you walk, ample picnic hits and barbecues, great playground for the kids.

A lovely setting with lush green gardens. It was interesting reading all the information boards along the way, that tell about the different aspects of the fort and the displays.
