This park is a bit of paradise in a busy city. It is a place to bring the whole family for a great day out, you can have a BBQ, feed the peacocks, peahens , and other birds, the children have a play area that is covered, and they can cross the little creek and see Bigfoot Cave, it has toilets, drinking water, disable access and parking it is all free. Also you are only about 200 meters from the Main Beach.

We have been in this park several times since we brought our mobility scooters along. This time was special because there were baby peacocks; baby geese; and baby waterfowl. Their parents showed off the little ones in a spectacular fashion with the result that we finished up with some amazing photographs. If you have an hour or more walk the park and you will love it. Fauna and Flora are well looked after by the park staff and they are always ready to answer questions. AND it is well away from the hustle and bustle of the Gold Coast Glitter strip. You need a bit of relaxation at this times - don't you? Maybe we see you there?

A great place to take the kids for a picnic & play. With wandering geese, & peacocks too, the big foot cave will have the little kids climbing and exploring. The bridge is your linkway across to the beach or roadside gives you access to ride the tram into Surfers. Clean amenities & bbq facilities, Macintosh park is the space in between, right in the heart of Surfers Paradise.

The park is great for families and the like to sit, relax, have a BBQ and play on the swings. The park is surrounded by water and has a bird sanctuary in the middle. Kids love looking and feeding the birds, the peacocks are definitely worth seeing. There are some nice paths good for walking and bike riding as well as a link bridge over to Narrowneck Beach.

Only been here once and enjoyed the gorgeous surroundings of the beautiful gardens. We went here one morning, during the week and had the park to ourselves. We enjoyed a lovely stroll, went over the bridge as it connects up to the beach (on the other side). We walked back through this lovely park and saw a few peacocks. This park must be high maintenance as the gardens were very nice filled with many pretty flowers.Definately a park to be enjoyed by all as there's good walkways for walkers and cyclist.Would be a fun day for the kids, lots of room to run around and see wildlife.

Macintosh Island Park is amazing that you have this piece of nature within a city, ducks, peacocks, etc roaming around freely, with BBQ's, playgrounds & open spaces........absolutely beautiful. Well done Surfers Paradise & Gold Coast City Council.

Just a short stroll from the mayhem of Caville Ave, is this little gem. Surprisingly, there is a large amount of birdlife in this small space, including peacocks strutting their stuff. Peaceful, green and serene by the beach.

I have lived on the Gold Coast on and off since 1981 and have only visited this beaurtiful area once and that was many years ago and to my surprise my friend and I were blown away at this treasure right in the centre of the coast.

The abundant bird life is supurb and the peacocks simply stunning.

The well informed and courteous staff told us that the peacocks are feed at 2.00pm so we stayed to observe that, as well as the Geese being fed and than going into their island for the night. We have nothing but praise for this Sanctury just beautiful and totally free.
There were children who were visiting the coast when we were there, obvously were in raptures. Great to see children with their families outdoors all so happy and loving this special place. The bar-b-que areas were also great and clean.
My friend and I just loved it, if you are looking for a spot to unwind and just enjoy the surroundings but still close to the city this is it.

My daughter Natalie enjoyed her visit to Ian Dippler Lagoon so much the other day that we decided to bring her here to see the peacocks, peahens, geese and pigeons and I am so glad. It was a great day, there were so many pigeons that she was a bit intimidated when they came to be fed and she had a great time and all for free

We visited this park on a Saturday. We were surprised to find it almost deserted. Plenty of parking spots and easy access. Park has plenty of seats, tables BBQs and toilets
Its located adjacent to main beach and has a link bridge for pedestrians
Kids were jumping off the bridge into the canal, which looked like fun
There are two kids play grounds, one has an island with a sleeping giant!
There are a few creeks and s waterfall
We found a shady spot and had a picnic
There are a few resident peacocks 🦚!
The canal can be accessed by a small beach but there are vessels using the canal so watch out.
We’ll be back again as this was a peaceful and convenient location
