A very steep climb to the summit, 600m aboved sea level in the Mt Archer National Park affording a wonderful view of the Botanical Gardens Rockhampton and surrounding National Park. Take a walk around the top of the mountain for a relaxing stroll. Sunrises and sunsets can be spectacular.

I do enjoy Mt. Archer so wonderful to see how Rockhampton is in a valley and all the western surrounds.

It was a short drive up to the summit of mount archer. Much cooler up at the top of the mountain. BBQ facilities and great walking tracks. I like Grass tree lookout which is a short stroll from the summit. Toilets facilities there as well at the top of the mountain.

Easy drive to the summit. Views of the town and hinterland are to the West which obviously is not good late in the afternoon. Very hot in summer . I'd recommend coming in the morning early to really make the most Mt Archer

The road up to Mt. Archer is in good condition. There are a few places to stop on the way up to get views of Rockhampton. Once up there you can take a few different walking tracks to get different views. The picnic area is lovely. You can also drive around the residential area and see the lovely homes and... More

We came here on a cloudy day and unfortunately weren't able to see the full view. However, there's two walking tracks that leads to three lookouts and the walk isn't too strenuous. Great for all ages and there's a bbq/picnic area so definitely bring your own food and enjoy the scenery. There's also a coffee place there but it didn't... More

A windy road to the top was definitely worth it. Views and birdlife was in abundance. We visited in the middle of a hot day and were surprised to see the Kookaburras feeding their young right in front of us and butterflies were dancing around. Insect repellent was essential.

After a long time of restricted access, Pilbeam drive has been reopened. The road is in the best condition I've ever seen it as a non-local. The trails seem alright and if you're a cyclist looking for a tough climb in Rocky, this is it...

The road up to Mount Archer is open now, after being damage by Cyclone Marsha. I haven't been up, saw it on the news.
