This historic botanical gardens is a great place to relax, have picnics, play or walk and look at the flora and fauna. A must see when in Rockhampton.

These gardens are gorgeous. So many different plants trees etc. well worth a visit. And to top it off there is the zoo attached which is free entry!!! Would highly recommend a walk around the gardens. Stunning!!

Wow I loved it here. So many beautiful Australian animals on show. The cafe was nice we got a cold drink and the birds came around looking for food they tried to drink our milkshake right out of the cup.

We went there with pur two kids 5 & 7. the kids loved the animals. In this free zoo you see the big 6 Australian animals: Kangaroos, Dingoes, Emus, Koalas, Wombats and ... crocodiles.

We spent a good few hours here exploring the gardens and seeing the animals. Favourite animal were the crocodiles.

Yes the Gardens Tearooms opens every day of the year except Christmas Day. Trading hours are 8am to 5pm. The Botanical Gardens are open every day of the year from 6am to 6pm.

It's all FREE. This is virtually the only free Zoo we know of on this coast. Similarly the Botanic Gardens are free as well. Bob & Sandra
