I love night markets and always make a point of visiting. The Cairns night markets are centrally located and very popular. Visited a couple of times mid-evening and hardly room to move. A great range of crafts, clothes, souvenirs, and services. A small food hall...More

I've been to night markets in other countries (primarily SE Asia) that are indescribably large and where every vendor harasses you to buy their stuff. Fortunately, the night market in Cairns avoids both of those pitfalls. Yes, most of the stuff they sell is cheaper,...More

If you are looking for some tourist items (key chains, magnets, pins, postcards, mass produced boomerangs and other aboriginal themed items) this is the place to get those items. If you are visiting Sydney, you should go to the market place near Central Station for...More

The markets are definitely designed for the tourist in mind. There is a good array of shops selling what is expected for tourists. The highlight of the market was the fabulous all you can eat Asian style takeaway. The price was excellent and the food...More

Our group went several times to the Night Markets for dinner as lots of choice, seats and tables to eat at, and good price. Very central.

Visited here on the way home from dinner. Wandering around the markets is like being transported to asia, just the feel of the place and the stuff being sold is like you're back being a tourist in bali, or thailand. Good for a look, lots...More

First night at cairns city. This is the first place we visited. Great atmosphere. So many bits and pieces. Clean and well organised. Reminds me some night markets in Thailand. The food court is big and has lot of variations.

This is a small tourist market near the waterfront in Cairns. There are bigger and better markets but if you want a quick massage (including one where fish nibble at your feet), a sheep's wool duster or a souvenir this is the place to go....More
