The Botanic Gardens are really well done. You can walk through the specific rainforest area and then wander across the road and down a rainforest boardwalk across to the lakes area. There are 2 cafes in the gardens with toilets available. Parking can be a challenge but there are sidestreets to park on. Lovely place to walk in the shade.

We could spend days here looking at all the wonderful plants just so much to see. The new orchid house is fabulous (I am an avid orchid collector). We didn't so much enjoy the boardwalk on the other side of the gardens; it would have been better had there been some rain because it was all dry and we both... More

I visited the botanic gardens and it was one of my favourite places in cairns. There are lovely walks in the gardens with loads of nice flowers and trees that I never seen before. The butterfly area was amazing! Highly recommend.

So many beautiful types of plants here, just as good as the gardens in sydney in my opinion. Great to get out to and see during a nice day, can't reccomend enough.

I had a walk in this properly landscaped tropical garden and was in awe with it. It may take full take to walk around and enjoy beautiful flora and faunas.

The Cairns Botanical Gardens have a great range of native plants, trees and flowers. It is kept in a very good condition and remarkedly clean of rubbish. The local birds add a great touch to the visit. Do not visit without protective sun screen

These gardens are a sight to behold. The variety of plants trees flowers is unbeatable!!! We didn't quite get to see the whole setting but managed to spend 3 hours before having lunch in the gardens cafe. I took so many photos of the beautiful orchards that they have and all the unusual blooms outside which are natural to far... More

A lovely walk on a not so hot day. If you are lucky to get there at the right time of year, a certain part of the garden has Lychee, Mango, Jackfruit, Breadfruit trees among many others and a local told us when asked that there were no laws about picking the fruit, so we did. There were also fruit... More

Just love the Cairns Botanic Gardens and they are a must do when in Cairns. The area is huge so allow plenty of time. Many large trees offer shade and plenty of rolling green grassed areas allowing plenty of running and playing space for children. The Tanks area in the gardens has to be seen to be believed. It is...
