Keep coming back time after time to enjoy the natural beauty and oxygen created by these gardens. Sorry to hear the majestic old Jade Vine, which we especially missed and liked was removed for 'progress'. Treasure your treasures and please don't put progress before them.

A good place to spend an hour or two. Typical botanical garden which is being improved when funds permit. The new plant house with butterflies included is one of the best I've seen as far as layout is concerned. Easily accessed from downtown by public transport .

The Botanical Gardens in Cairns are well worth a visit with free entry. By chance we arrived just in time for a free tour of the gardens and learnt all the names of the plants, alas I only remember the sausage tree and the canon ball tree. The guide was fun and friendly and certainly new about plants. There is... More

I always marvel at the flowers and plants at Cairns Botanic Gardens and how well it is well maintained. It is an exciting day out at the garden. There is also a good cafe where one can eat and relaxed. Its vegetation is truly tropical and reminds me very much of the Island of Mauritius.

A nice shady and green leafy walk as a respite from the heat and sun of FNQ between the wharf area and the pool on th esplanade.

You could easily spend a day here as there is so much to see (we only had half a day). Of particular interest to us was Flecker garden with its magnificent displays of tropical plants from many countries. This was followed by taking the Boardwalk through the rainforest. There are plenty of picnic areas as well as two cafes. It's... More
