Beautiful and tropical and all good things. Bring insect repellent or you will be so distracted by itchy bites you won't be able to enjoy the greenery.

Part of our walking tour with Cairns Urban Adventures provided us with time to tour around the Botanic Gardens. Fantastic flowers, plants, butterflies. If you are into tropical gardens, and even if you aren't, it is well worth the visit.

We were there in the beginning of February, so it was very humid and hot. We left the garden the second time my son walked into a giant spider web while walking on the trail.

Only four kilometers from the heart of Cairns City, the Botanical Gardens are a tropical oasis. 38 hectares of native Australian gardens are maintained to lush standards, and many plants found here cannot be seen elsewhere in the world.
