Description:

Seastar Cruises premium reef cruise combines the outer Great Barrier Reef...

Seastar Cruises premium reef cruise combines the outer Great Barrier Reef with a coral cay island. In only 1 1/4 hours the fast air-conditioned Seastar 1 can take you from Cairns to magnificent Michaelmas Cay, the largest of the local uninhabited coral cays. Cruising past Green Island, Upolu cay and Oyster reef Seastar is the first boat to arrive. After an enjoyable time here it is a short 20 minute cruise to the splendid Hastings Reef sitting on the very outer edge. This is where the corals thrive, well out from the coast away from the influence the rivers and streams, adjacent to the clear waters of the Pacific Ocean. You will have 2 1/2 hours at each location. Plenty of time to go snorkeling, do a introductory dive, relax on the beach of the Island or join a tour in the Glass Bottom Boat at Hastings Reef. The day cruise on Seastar inlcudes Morning/Afternoon tea, high quality snorkel equipment, Wetsuit or Lycra suit (depending on the time of year), Glass Bottom Boat Tour, Hot & Cold Buffet Lunch, Reef Interpretation & Guided Snorkel Tours on each spot.

We found this charter the best for value for money and more importantly felt our safety was always the crews foremost concern. Value for money was gained by the all inclusive price of wet suit to free photos of our trip being available via face book. Items such as sea sick tablets, beers and wine can be purchased and eftpos... More

We signed up for a full day and arrived at 7:30 a.m. The staff stressed safety and we were all assigned a safety number to ensure we were all onboard when we got back on the boat. I appreciated the availability of motion sickness pills which I took before we even took off. I think there were about seven or... More

A wonderful day starting at 7.30am at the boat stopping at 2 locations, a cay and a reef with hours of time in the water. Experienced and friendly crew and you are provided with everything you need. I think there is a reason they are ranked #1.

7.30am gather at the pier to start a full day double tour to Michaelmas Cay and Hastings Reef. High speed vessel with a comfortable and clean apartment. A crew of 7 members to cater and take care of a group of around 30 passengers. I do appreciate their professionalism and paying high attention to safety. Breakfast with tea coffee and... More

My girlfriend and I signed up for a reef tour as well as some introductory scuba diving with Seastar. We really relied on Tripadvisor as we were finalizing which company to go through and we are extremely happy we did it with Seastar. The staff was so warm and welcoming and it was easy to tell they went out of... More

This was my second excursion out to the reef and Seastar was terrific! I'm glad I went again as this time the trip was to reef locations with abundant amazing sea life. All of the staff was really helpful and all right there when you needed them. There were 37 people on the boat and it was just about right... More

One of the best days of my life! I was quite nervous before this because I am not a strong swimmer, but I couldn't fly over 30 hours to Australia and not snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef! After reading reviews of many different boat companies, this was the best one. The day was amazing from start to finish- we... More

A great way to see a couple different spots - including Michaelmas Cay and Hastings Reef. The crew is great and makes sure you're well looked after. The guided small group snorkels they start off with at each stop can feel a bit crowded but then you're allowed plenty of time after to explore about on your own. Not sure... More

I guess there are no words to describe the awesome experience I had with Seastar. I was initially apprehensive as a solo traveller that they would not bother about me, but I was so wrong. They paid attention to everyone on board and every crew did their best to make everyone feel welcomed and at ease. The diving experience was... More

The crew are awesome and friendly, really knowledgable about the reef and sea life. We did both dived and Hastings Reef was amazing! You need to do Michaelmas Cay in order to be able to do the second dive at Hastings but well worth it. Laura showed us giant clams, schools and schools of fish and the most colourful coral... More
