I took a tour with Wait-a-While this past June. It was absolutely amazing! Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and personable. I highly recommended this tour if you have even the slightest interest in the native wildlife of Australia. This was one of the highlights...More

Luckily, I had a private solo tour with Paul to the wild animal kingdom in Atherton Tableland. Paul showed me almost everything I expected to see there day and night. Some are showed in my photos pasted. I went to Cairns twice, and I think...More

Truly a great afternoon/evening. Even with a cyclone on the way in, we still saw many animals-the tree kangaroo, three types of possums, leaf tail gecko, platypus, pademelons to make just a few. The night glimpse of the creatures and plants was well orchestrated and...More

As an Australian who loves our land and natural environment I was thrilled to see so many of the creatures unique to this rainforest. It was amazing how easy it was, with Paul’s local knowledge taking us to roadsides and easy short walks in the...More

Thanks for the review. It kind of is easy to find the wildlife round here, as long as you know where and when! I am glad you enjoyed it and got to see those bucket list animals.

I really lucked out with this tour, having a super small group and a very knowledgeable guide (PhD in Tropical Ecology!). We saw so many animals, nearly 30 species in just the one tour. Wallabies, platypus, possums, bats, birds, and more! The best tour I...More

Thanks Kim. We are so lucky living here as there is so much wildlife out there and when you have someone like Tapio as your guide you really get to see it, and learn about it.

The trip was well spent and we went back with lots of pictures and information on the animals. First we were supplied with bino, however the journey was quite rough. This was compensated by the guide (sorry we didn't get his name but he was...More

The first time we went to Australia, we were frequently told that the most interesting wildlife emerged at night, but we were unlikely to see any of these nocturnal animals in the wild. On a return to Australia in July, however, we were determined to...More

I can never guarantee we will see a Platypus but we have a great place to try and find then and luckily we usually do it is such a special place here. Thanks for the recommendation.

This is an excellent tour if your main objective is to see wild life in and around Cairns, the forest and tablelands. It provided many more options than a rainforest-only type tour. On this you will likely see wallabies in the suburbs, tree kangaroos near...More

Nice tour. We could see tree kangaroo, rat kangaroo, lots of possums, platypuss and plenty of wallabies. We spent a little time on the bus but it's wonderful the division between day watching and nivjt watching. Paul is so enthusiastic and knows plenty of things...More

+ educational, plenty of hard to find creatures seen - alot of time spent in the minibus, very little patience with an inquisitive 8 year old, uncomfortable evening meal as only 2 guests present

Sorry you did not seem to get the most out of our tour. Picking you up in Port Douglas does mean extra drive time and with children that can be a bit much for them.

It is around 15-20 mins from Airport to Hilton. We pick up there between 1:30 and 1:45. So as long as your plane is on time you will be ok. It is not really possible to catch up to us in a taxi.
