3 weeks of rain, locals' heavy rubbish is an eyesore, litters streets, blocks pavements, smells. Sad for BnBs, eats etc

A great place to have at your doorstep if you are staying in the area. Not a place, however, that is necessarily worth going out of your way to visit.

Visited on Tuesday 20th September. It's been years since I visited James Street and gotta say what a wonderful place it is now. So many shops and restaurants to choose from. Well worth checking out for yourself.

A precinct with style. Excellent cafes, restaurants, cafes and bars. Leafy shaded street with high quality retail, art galleries, the Calile hotel with Hellenika restaurant by the pool, Palace movies, Messina Gelato, Cru Bar, Gerrards and many more to discover.

More like Rodeo Drive, LA, La Jolla san Deigo or Carmel-by-the -Sea near San Francisco

The James Street precinct is where it is at in Brisbane. The leafy streets are filled with great places to shop as well as plenty of different food choices. There is also a great market to pick up meat, seafood, fresh fruit and veggies and deli items. Highly recommend you visit when in Brisbane or stay there.

One of the best street is Australia; it is neither huge nor a major CBD precinct like Collins Street in Melbourne or Pitt Street in Sydney but it has so much appeal in atmosphere and activities.
Whether it be dining, shopping, cinema, there is something for everyone.
It appeals to a younger demographic so the David Jones store with its older appeal hasn't really worked but there are enough smaller quality and design focussed stores to appeal to the shopaholic.

I’m sure the shops and dining are great but what is the use if you can’t find parking? I also was harassed by a tenant who placed her vehicle at the back of mine to stop me driving away because I overstayed the time limit. If David Jones has closed, other shops must be hurting. Sort it out and I’ll return.

Stayed at the Calile Hotel recently so the James Street Precinct is right at the front door. There are so many places to browse and if you are a hotel guest, many of the retailers offer a discount. There are very many fashion retailers (Seed, Bec&Bridge, Carla Zampatti, to name a few) as well as homewares stores (Wheel & Barrow, Pottery Barn), quite a few eateries (Harveys, Chow House, Spoon and a Sushi Restaurant) and of course the Markets.

The Market has limited stock but it is top of the range produce (bread, fruit, cheese, juice etc). We had been out for a big lunch one day so shopped here for bread, cheese and grapes for a picnic dinner in our room. There is also a small David Jones store.

Great place to browse but hang on to your credit card!!

This place is a neat little market place with cafes, bakeries and ice creameries. Relaxing outdoor seating available and pretty relaxed.
