We had taken the river cat down river from the CBD and decided to walk back into the city centre and take in the gardens on our way. Very glad we did - it is a calm and tranquil oasis away from the bustle of the city and the gardens are well kept. For the dedicated botanist there is probably... More

Nice place to have a leisurely stroll thru and there is a great playground to keep the kids active for a while too.

Our visit was Impromptu but so glad we did it. An oasis in the city. What a stunning spot. Big high rises on one side and the river on the other. Ponds..picnics...wildlife...Beautiful flowering bushes...just loved it. A market was also happening while we were there which provided refreshments loved the visit and longing to return.

We were at a wedding on the weekend at Old Government House followed by the reception at 365 Degrees in the QLD Uni Campus overlooking the gardens. It was fantastic to see the gardens form above for the first time with the river and the Story Bridge in the background!

A bit disappointed with this place. Not really a true botanical garden, more of a nice park with a few strange trees. The guide spent too long talking about only a few trees. Nice place for a wander, though, and provides good views of Story Bridge.

It was a beautiful sunny day when we decided to visit the City Botanic Gardens and we were absolutely enthralled by the fantastic displays and garden beds. A real credit to the staff for the presentation. Plenty of shady spots and a lovely café overlooking the gardens. Helpful people in the information centre too. Well worth a visit as it... More

A really nice park with plenty of animals and ponds, direct next to the river. A good place to go for a walk, or just hang out a bit.

We had a great time here. There are free walking tours that leave from the rotundra. Our guide, Margaret, was quite knowledgeable and easy to understand. The river is next to the gardens and Parliament House is just across the street next to QUT college.

We were staying across the road from the gardens so were able to visit for a walk and explore several times. The gardens are located with Old Government House and have a wonderful history explained in plaques around the gardens. The gardens were absolutely beautiful, and it was lovely to see them so well used by locals having family picnics,... More

I always stay near the Botanic gardens and take a walk there most mornings. Perched on the edge of the Brisbane CBD, this place is extremely well maintained and has a brilliant collection of plants, including tropical species. and some fascinating old trees. Walking around is very easy and riverside mangrove wetlands are accessible. Spend as much time as you... More
