After crossing the Simpson Desert with John from Tagalong Tours, I signed up for their Cape Trip trip and after just returning home after 18 days away, I have to say this was the most amazing road trip. John our tour guide and his lovely beautiful wife were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and a great entertainers around the campfire.
I would recommend this road trip to anyone wanting to experience 4wd the old télé track, and walk to the northernmost point of the Australian continent with continence knowing you are in good hands.
Again, thank you to John and congratulations once more on your 60th trip to the Tip. Cheers Chris

We have just returned from a 14 day tagalong tour up to Cape York and it was amazing. We were not happy travelling in this remote area alone so we joined Aussie 4WD Tagalong Tours: Cairns to Cape York Tours- run by Ermes and Susan and they were amazing. It was great value and we saw places we would never have got to without their knowledge and experience. Our tour guide was very experienced and able to fix anything that went wrong with your car- he even fixed a broken CV joint on one of the Toyotas! The people were great. It was pretty physical putting up tents at night and packing up most mornings but that was part of challenge. You had to be organised with food but we ate at all of the famous places- Bramwell station, Archers Roadhouse and camped in some beautiful spots beside creeks. As our first real 4WD adventure I can’t recommend highly enough!

Fabulous trip to Pajinka, we are so glad we went on an 18 day 4WD Tagalong Tour, John was a wealth of knowledge about everything and everywhere we went, thoroughly enjoyed our 4WD fellow campers, we all got along very well although we now know what not to do with our camper in tow, we've learnt a lot on this trip.
I highly recommend 4WD Tagalong Tours Cape York

We turned up for this tour to discover that the itinerary had changed from what we had paid for. Firstly there was not one vehicle with North West Safari on it or a trailer holding tents etc. We were then informed that we wouldn't be camping, no reason given. One of the guides had never done this trip before and another was doing it whilst on holiday from her job as a ranger. On the first day we drove over 700klms to our first stop, Moreton Telegraph Station. We did not stop at Quinlan rock art, told by Ian it was to expensive, or stay at the cattle station. The itinerary said that dinner would be supplied by the tour company at Archer Roadhouse. When we had nearly finished the meal Ian the tour guide in charge told us to get our credit cards out we were paying for the meal and then just walked off. Cost my wife and I $80 which we hadn't planned into our budget. At Moreton Telegraph St all meals supplied were fast food. No cearel, when I asked where it was I was ignored,no nibbles or meals cooked out in the bush as per the itinerary. On one of the days ham sandwiches were supplied, one of the ladies didn't eat pork and had put that down as a dietary requirement. She was told to just take the ham out so went with out lunch. We arrived in Seisia to be put into run down accommodation, some people had to be moved because they had no hot water. The trip to Roko Island was a waste of time. There was nothing at all on Pearl farming. We just sat around all day twiddling our thumbs waiting whilst those who could afford it went on helicopter rides. At least the meal was enjoyable. The tour on Thursday and Horn Is were great. The tour guide was a local with lots of knowledge and a good sense of humour. On the 6th I was taken to hospital and so missed the rest of the tour. I didn't know whether to be happy or sad. My wife and I saved up out of our pension for this trip to only be completely ripped off. I suggest you be very careful of this tour company because lawyers have made sure in the small print that if you don't get what you paid for, tough. There was no communication from the owner of this tour at any time to explain why the tour had changed. It seemed as if for some reason the tour was changed and put together at the last minute.

We(dad & son) completed a Tagalong Tour up to the tip and back. I can highly recommend this tour. John our tour leader was excellent and very knowledgeable on the site included in the tour. Unfortunately we had to send our 4x4 back to Brisbane on a car carrier as the engine was playing up on the last day of the tour. But apart from that the tour is must due for nay 4x4enthusiast, one one thing off the bucket list.

Well organized tour with plenty to do & see. Our Tour operator was John & he had a wealth of Knowledge about all thing's 4WD as well as general life skills. My family came away with plenty more confidence to take on many more roads less travelled. Thanks Tagalong tours!

Traveling to Cape York is a step back in time -not in a good way.
Drivers on the Cape York Development Rd are on the whole appalling. Driving up the cape we have repeatedly been showered in rocks by testosterone fueled idiots driving far too fast. We have had other testosterone fueled idiots attempting to overtake us at ridiculous speed on crests and on corners. We have travelled extensively in the Outback and this is by far the worst driving we have seen. These drivers have no care for anyone but themselves.
The same idiots then camp in both commercial and QLD parks camp grounds. They all light fires (even when overnight temps are 20). The camp grounds are Smokey and horrible, they run their diesel car engines at random times for hours at a time (usually at 0600)’. They play loud music. There is no serenity or experience of nature.
There are many beautiful sites to see here but the experiences are diminished by the testosterone fueled bogans, who dominate this landscape.
The predatory accommodation sellers are complicit in encouraging this bad behavior as they provide no guidelines or rules. Happy to take their money, knowing they make it uncomfortable for others. Profit before safety, cleanliness or equity. It really has a disgraceful tourist ethic.

We did a Tagalong Tour up to the tip which I can highly recommend. Our leader John was great and his knowledge excellent. We went to many places that we would never have found if we had been doing it by ourselves. It was reassuring having the expertise at hand should we have run into trouble especially doing the Old Telegraph Track.
