I was baptised in this cathedral many years ago. When a huge motel complex was built between the cathedral and it's view of the sea there was a stipulation that the cathedral's view not be interrupted. The resulting structure is well worth a look
This is a beautiful building built to the Darwin climate. The sides of the church are all doors which open up which is not only inviting, but allows the breeze to blow through. It also has stained glass windows paying tribute to the defence services.

On our visit to Darwin we attended Mass. The highlight was the singing. The choir was amazing. The sermon was relevant and family oriented. The atmosphere in the church was one of respect and acceptance.
This is a lovely place to stop and take a breath in between the busy tours.
