If you love 100% FRESH LOCAL DARWIN & AUSTRALIAN SEAFOOD this is where you find it! Specialists in Barramundi, Snapper, Jewfish, King George Whiting from SA & Prawns cooked or green for BBQ. Mussels, Scollops, Lobster, Mud & Sand Crabs; & my favourite fresh Coffin Bay Oysters (try with Campari, Soda & wedge of Orange YUM!) I love the smoked... More

This is a great seafood market if your intention is to go an buy some beautiful fresh seafood to take home and cook. However we went with the intent of finding some lunch. Whilst there is a fish and chip store next door, this is exceptionally average given the fresh produce they could be using from this fish market. Shame.

Here you have the widest range of fresh and frozen seafood, at competitive prices! You can see what you are buying, often taste. All is well presented and supplied to many outlets in Darwin so the quality must be good. Well done Darwin Fish Market and Carmel.

There are two places to get fresh or frozen seafood in Darwin, Mr Barra and here. I have purchased from both and over the years would have purchased more from the Darwin Fish Market. The best for prawns and Mud Crab, also very good for fish and I have to mention Tassie Mussels when they have them. Compare the prices... More

Decieving. The tasters they give you do not reflect what you purchase. The bugs were flowery to the point of not being edible. One lot of prawns did not taste anything like they gave you to try. Very disappointed.

The market was closed on a late Sunday arvo, but I was pleasantly surprised to find Rachael's eatery. I ordered prawns which she cooked for me in a Thai flavoured butter, served with a bread roll. They are the tastiest seafood I have eaten in the NT. I am going to go back there, take my own salad and drink,... More

Not only selling excellent seafood, there is now a pop-up restaurant operating from here. Rachael's Seafood Shack operated by Rachael of Master Chef fame, she offers 'No chips, No salad, No Bull - just Kept it Simply Seafood'. Open Wed-Sun Lunch - 9pm. We found by accident when most places in Darwin closed on a Sunday night and what an... More

Lovely helpful staff. Extremely friendly. My little toddler was in awe of the fish on ice and live crabs and the lady stacking the display spent so much time telling her about the fish. It was nice to go somewhere and feel so welcome. Oh and the prawns were awesome!!

We are so glad that you enjoyed our fresh local cooked prawns and thank you for your kind words. I will let the boys know as they are cooked fresh on site here at Darwin Fish Market. We are so lucky in Australia with the fish/prawn management programmes that are in place for sustainability, this will enable future generations to... More
