Very small market, maybe 15-20 stalls total, mostly food and a few with handicrafts or clothes. No where for the kids, poorly laid out and no parking. I’d recommend the homemaker village market with indoor playground over Parap

Got a cab to the markets excited to see lots of wonderful things. We were all very disappointed. Hardly any crafty type stalls - if you are after tasty south East Asian food then this has a lot to offer, however if you aren’t hungry you could walk around in 5 minutes and be done. We also went to the Nightcliff markets the next day and they were exactly the same. If you not after food not really worth the cab fair!

Definitely visit with an empty tummy!
The aromas hit you as soon as you near the market precinct. It’s a small but vibrant market with a full range of stalls - fresh juice, smoothies, tropical flowers, art, nic nacks, beauty products and many delicious food options.
The fixed stores around the weekend pop ups are very worthy of a wander through.
We walked out with packs for lunch, some wonderful pottery items, books, gorgeous painted shells, and some beauty products.

Everyone raves on about Mary's Laksa so I had to take a ride share to Parap Market from the city to try out her laksa. It was delicious but expect a long queue on a Saturday morning.
There are clothes and craft stores too.
Not a big market but good for a morning.
I love laksa and tried 3 places in Darwin.
What most people don't know is that is a good laksa stall on Mitchell St in Darwin City. Has no clear signage but is a hole in a wall food stall just 2 stores up from Alfonsino's Darwin

Something for everyone. We went particularly for Mary’s Laksa and we’re not disappointed. Mary herself served us. Even though I don’t think I have ever been hotter the Laksa was delicious. If you do nothing else in Darwin visit for the Laksa. Once the Mindil Beach Markets are on there is more choice but in the wet this is your best option.
Saying that lots of other Pop up and permanent shops worth a visit. Was a nice surprise on our trip.

Lots of various food stalls and some craft ones. Mary’s laksa is very good and worth the hype and the wait. Go hungry as you will want to sample many things maybe take Mary’s laksa home so you can enjoy all they have on offer, Kens crepes also good and filling. Enjoy! :-)

Caught bus from Darwin CBD.
An amazing array of stalls selling clothes, jewellery, spices, lotions and potions, bread, fruit, vegetables, drinks and many selling food. Didn’t stop to eat food as the queues were so long.
Many stalls are cash only. Queues for ATMs were huge, so take money with you.

Disappointing . We came on the Hop on Bus which was an excellent service . The market on the other hand was not what we expected . The arts, crafts and clothing stalls were very limited . The food stalls were pop up vans and the food was certainly varied . Perhaps we chose badly but the fried whitebait was terrible . It had been over fried and tasted of old oil so we put it in the bin . In Asia we are wary of food in Bain Marie’s and the joy of Asian food markets are the food stalls where it is cooked in front of you .

Great smells of delicious food cooking. Amazing array of yummy tastes. There are also stalls with innovative crafts. Travelled there on local bus which was efficient. Good experience all round
