Hi Kolletjie, Thank you for taking the time to review Wild Life Sydney Zoo. We are happy to hear you had a great time with all of our wonderful animals. One doesn't see the Sydney Zoo animals in most other city zoos. If you don't see a kangaroo on a road somewhere in Australia or a koala up in a tree eating leaves or any other exotic (to us - Americans), animals - go to the Sydney Zoo. It's a wealth of unusual animals.

Hi Sandy, Thank you for taking the time to review Wild Life Sydney Zoo. Many of our animals you won't be able to see unless you go out to the outback roads of Australia. Wild Life Sydney gives you the opportunity to see these wonderful animals without leaving the city. We hope to see you again! Kind regards, Sophie B. More

This is only a small compact zoo in Darling Harbour. There is a lot to Se inside and it concentrates on native Australian animals. There are both day and night displays as well as walking with butterflies and birds. The green frogs on display are quite special. I have never seen so many in one place at the same time.... More

Hi Andrew, Thank you for taking the time to review Wild Life Sydney Zoo. We are happy to hear you enjoyed your time with all of our wonderful animas. The butterfly walk through is a great way to have some little butterflies stop off on your head or shoulder and try to leave with you. All of our keeper talks... More

This is a good zoo if you want to get a look at the native Australian fauna without spending a full day at a larger zoo like Taronga. You can easily see what you want to see in about 2 hours and go see something else in the city. My faves are the koalas and the kangaroos, although the kangaroos... More

Hi Jennifer, We are delighted to hear you had a great time at Wild Life Sydney Zoo. Many of our kangaroo's sleep during the day as they are conserving energy for later activities and our koalas are the same and are most active in the mornings. If you would like a morning with our koalas we do have koalas breakfast... More

We went here to have a look at some of Australia's iconic animals such as the Kangaroos, crocs, wallabies etc but it was the Koalas that myself and my wife were mostly interested in and we paid the extra to have our photo taken with them and I am not usually the type to fall for the trap but it... It's basically in the city, so very convenient. The range of animals is quite good for a smaller zoo. Good with small kids (short attention spans).

Visited the Zoo and Aquarium with the family (good 2 for 1 deals to be purchased from the ticket office). Kiddie friendly, lots to see and very centrally located.

It is not something extraordinarily, but if you have time, go there! But if you need to choose between zoo and aquarium, select the aquarium that has unique to Australia species such as a good collection of sharks and corals. One more that you need to consider if you have limited time in Sydney: to get to zoo, you have... More

A small, compact zoo that wasn't too expensive and allowed us to get face to face with all of the iconic Australian animals; the crocodile was particularly impressive! Definitely a few things that could make it better but we really enjoyed the 2.5hrs we spent there.

Staying in Darling Harbour

Neighbourhood Profile
Darling Harbour
The original docklands of Darling Harbour have been transformed into a tourist mecca with entertainment for the whole family. Cockle Bay Wharf offers dining options from budget to upscale and million dollar views of the harbour. Young crowds gather on weekends for nightlife that ranges from salsa clubs to Dj’s. Families can visit the Chinese Gardens of Friendship or the Sydney Aquarium, one of the largest in the world. The Sydney Maritime Museum and the IMAX theatre are also popular attractions. The Harbourside Shopping Centre is a site unto itself, with hundreds of shops, restaurants and bars. On Saturdays in the summer, the city puts on a spectacular fireworks show along the harbour's shore and there are plenty of other free events during the year - Darling Harbour Fiesta, VIVID’s light installations and the Sydney Festival, just to name a few.
