We booked tickets to the March 24 performance of LaBoheme online from Canada in January/17 We picked up our tickets at the box office without issue. The Joan Sutherland Theatre is a lovely venue and the acoustics were fantastic. This was our third Opera and really the only one I enjoyed . The surtitles were very visible. The seats were... More

March 2017 I went to Opera's Greatest Hits in the Sydney Opera House. At nearly $200 for two people including fees this is something that you should avoid. I expected a part orchestra, costumes and drama instead it was formal wear, bland and a rushed performance covering just under 70 minutes, with the same singers joined by only a pianist... More

Saw La Traviata opera at the Joan Sutherland theatre at The Sydney Opera House. Used Entertainment Book offer so obtained 2 for the price of 1 ticket. Excellent value and absolutely enjoyed the event.

I booked with my wife both the tour of the Opera House and La Traviata, the tour is nice a give you good information about the building from the concept to the long and difficult building process. La Traviata was very good, nice staging and good performance from all the singers. Our seats were far away but we had a... More

We went to all three operas that are showing at the moment and they were all stunning. The sets in La Boheme and La Traviata were especially breath taking. The singing and the orchestra were marvellous and I thought the acting was superb. The Joan Sutherland theatre is a wonderful place for opera - you feel so close to the... More

We didn't see a show at the Opera house but, we got up super early to do the backstage tour. I am not someone who likes getting up early but, this was worth it. The tour is so cool. You get a behind the scenes look at all the theaters, some of the dressing rooms, the opera pits, trap doors,... More

My wife and I were very satisfied with great and wonderful opera. We were extremely impressed by all performers especially Alfred's father. As a traveller, the best thing I've done was buying opera tickets through online. La Traiata opera in Sydney Opera House was unforgettable experience. Thank you for all performers!

Not just the opera. We purchased tickets to two operas, Tosca and La Boheme, and took the 'Dinner is on us' package for D reserve tickets at $89 per person. The dinners, at Eastbank and Searock grill, were not worthy of the name and it is not great sitting through an Opera hungry! The performances themselves we okay, highlighted by... More

My wife and I arrived at Sydney at the end of a trans-Pacific cruise. She said she would like to go to the famous Opera House and see a performance of Tosca. It's not really my thing but I agreed to accompany her. We went in person to the booking office. A number of tickets were available. We settled for... More

Absolutely spellbinding!! The performance to the orchestral music was thrilling. I was mesmerized. I bought tickets on line from my home city when they first went on sale. Everything went smoothly. Fortunately I bought tickets for La Boheme because I haven't had enough. It's the best opera performance I've ever seen!!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
