Circular Quay is a colorful port where ferries and cruise ships board and depart, and boat watching can be as good a pastime as people watching. While street performers entertain outside, those wanting a more cultural experience can head into the Museum of Contemporary Art where a sculpture garden on the roof is as much a view as the waterways below.

This is a train station, bus station and ferry terminal. It's main function is transit hub, hence it is very busy. There are always a number of street entertainers varying from very poor to very good. The restaurants are designed for fast through put. It is a short walk to the Opera House and the Rocks.

Visited Circular Quay and Darling Harbour for the first time in many years last weekend. Both areas extremely busy. The worst part was breathing in other peoples cigarette smoke plus seeing the number of butts on the ground.!! What a mess, plus other general litter. I thought Sydney had litterbug rangers? Some good eateries nearby, plus ferry services around the... More

This is the hub of Sydney, sandwiched inbetween the Harbor Bridge and much recognized Sydney Opera House, where you find tickets for tours and ferry boat rides. You can even buy a combination of ferry and zoo tickets to take you to the opposite side to visit the Taronga Zoo. Being that this is a hub, you are sure to... More

We came here in 2008 and loved Sydney this time we found a big change. At Circular Quay restaurants had cut down the tables in front on their pavement and all the little shops had gone. Too many chinese or Asian restaurants and no Australian with the famous pies or kangaroo. Very disappointed and we were glad to leave.

Circular Quay is a must to visit for all the hive of activity with the different ferries coming and going. Ferries to everywhere leave from here. If you don't visit her you haven't been to Sydney.

I have heard they are going to upgrade the area and can't wait till they do. Expect it to be busy at all times and be patient. Read the signs carefully if travelling on the ferry. Customer service is a bit of a hit and miss but it's pretty easy to find where you need to go. Lots of street... More

We got off the ferry and headed towards the opera house. Interest begins immediately with plaques in the ground showing the line of the first and second quays (historically and after improvement). There are also plaques noting writers with links to Australia - some familiar and some less familiar. Not everyone was aware of what was under their feet, and... More
