Just visited Susannah Place Museum and cannot rate highly enough. Guide was very good and the history is amazing. So pleased that these old houses in The Rocks have survived. Highly recommended

Fascinating glimpse of Sydney's history and how the lives of normal people people were so different to standards and expectations today. Things we take fr granted today were not on the radar back then.

We randomly happened upon this 1840s home, which has been lovingly preserved and researched so that the guides can give you a good sense of what life in Sydney was like at different times over the last 200 years. A hidden gem for history buffs.

We thought the tour through these 4 houses built in the 1840s was amazing. As per historic regulations throughout the world, each house was left the way the last owners had it as in four different periods including the original time. It is amazing that...More

I was looking forward to visiting this facility and learning some Sydney history. Sadly, I found the experience disappointing. I found the curator's decision to leave the buildings in the state in which they were found rather than to renovate to the conditions of a...More

It makes a very good contrast to see the opulence of Elizabeth Bay House and compare it with these working class cottages. There is an obligatory guided tour of the small row of old terrace houses and the tour is very good-- you step into the...More

The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and
sailors from the old nation. As the oldest
neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone

buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney,
Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi
“ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the
waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The
