After visiting the Opera House take a stroll around the walkway and enter the Botanic Gardens. There are some lovely walks in the gardens and plenty to see. There was a tomato festival on in the gardens and a chocolate exhibition.

We walk from the entrance of the Botanic Gardens to the Opera House on a misty morning. Even with the rain it didn't dampen our pure pleasure walking amount the natural beauty. Then to come up to the Opera House is icing on the cake!

Botanic garden is short walk from Opera. It is so huge you will need whole day to explore it. Take a picnic basket and lot of water and spend day here it is amazing to have so big garden in the middle of the city 😄

We often finished our day walking the route between the Harbor, Opera House and Botanical Garden before retiring to the Holiday Inn at Potts Point.

Be sure you spend some time in the Sydney Botanic Gardens while heading toward the iconic Opera house. There are many pathways to explore and it is also well signed. It is free and wasn't crowded any of the times I passed through (which was daily for a week). It provided a lush green respite from the hustle and bustle... More

This was a pleasant walk despite the heat and a nice way to approach the Opera House. Nice views behind and special views of the harbour too.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
