As a local - this is one of my favorite places to run, walk, take visitors or just breathe. Keep walking to the art gallery to get out of the sun in the middle of the day (or drop into Boy Charlton pool).

I'm totally biased because Sydney is my home town, but I never get tired of going into Circular Quay and walking around to the Opera House and then into the Royal Botanic Gardens. The Opera House is THE most iconic Australian building and such a unique and interesting structure. Having the entry to the gardens right next door makes this... More

That is the most iconic walk you can do in Sydney and It's simply stunning. The views of the park on one side and the sea on the other is amazing, Plus you get to take photos of the Opera house as well as the Bridge from many angles.

To be honest I was left a bit cold by this. The main species appears to be grass, lots of open grass, which is what you'd expect, but it would seem reasonable to see more other specimens as NSW has got a rich natural environment. I'd expect a botanical garden to be a showcase for this, but it's little more... More

This is a a really nice walk todo. Starting from the Opera house it winds along the foreshore of the botanic gardens. However we like to come at it from Woolloomooloo wharf, which is worth a visit in its self, walking a long the path right next to the water, passing Mrs Maquaries chair, awesome views and photo opportunities of... The tour is worth booking and is well run and worth the cost. The guides are helpful, courteous and informative. We had seen the photographs but in reality it becomes alive and more impressive. A must see for anyone visiting Sydney. A follow up walk in the Botanical Gardends is beautiful.
