My wife and I were visiting Sydney for a few days and this was easily one of our favorite parts of the trip. The experience of having dinner/drinks while the sun sets, followed by watching a movie overlooking Sydney Harbor is something I'll always remember. We didn't have pre-booked tickets so we got there early to wait in line for... More

I am a regular goer to the St George Openair Cinema since 10 years. The athmosphere is always great with the view. Even when it rains it is fun as they give out ponchos and it is warm enough anyway since it is summer. I cannot recommend the food though. Even though they have a fancy sounding menue, it is... We visited Sydney in February 2017 and loved this venue for a movie. Breathtaking views of the bay and downtown. Very pleasant evening with a great show. The food was adequate and seating comfortable.

Cinema and the experience itself was fantastic. Food was utter rubbish. Drinks very expensive but no surprise there! Things to note for first timers: - go there early especially if you're a group more than two. You can get reserve signs that you stick on the back on your seat from the staff, we did this at 6.30pm then had... More

The setting is breath taking and the vibes are great. Even the weather (rainy) couldn't hurt the atmosphere. We were all provided free ponchos to keep us dry. We took a blanket to keep warm as well. Fireworks set off at 9pm in Darling Harbour were in full view and only added to the experience. Only downfall was the food.... More

St George Openair Cinema is a must do at least once. I love it so much that this year I was lucky enough to secure tickets for three sreenings. The first was on Saturday evening. 'A United Kingdom'. The screen lies on the surface of the water and once the night sky appears and the stars twinkle in the sky... More

What a great thing to do - watch a movie where the screen is floating on our beautiful harbour! We even had fireworks preceding the film; just to remind us that Sydney has the most beautiful harbour in the world! If you intend on going, get there early; hours early!! People reserve their seats upon arrival and then indulge in... More

We went to see la la land by. The open air cinema The night was a great success. There is food and drinks to be purchased there along with cushions for the seats. You have to be quick to get seats together for more than 2 people The seats were uncomfortable even with the cushions for the length of the... More

Absolutely fab experience in the Sponsors Lounge, the food and wine were fantastic and the service first class. Well worth the extra cost to reserve a table and seats for the movie.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
