We were Recommended to visit Watson Bay for its tranquility and a good fish and chips shop Doyle. We did try and it was worthy our limited time and effort to buy the tickets to get there.

Came here by bus from Bondi Beach. Watson’s bay hotel and restaurant great food and views and also a must is Doyle’s restaurant or cafe for a seafood basket or fish and chips. Also walks up to lighthouse.
A pleasant ferry ride moved us to Watson's Bay, where we had lunch and hiked up to the Tasman Sea overlook, and to the Dunbar wreckage's anchor. Next we climbed the many stairs for a higher view. All very beautiful

While I am sure that Watsons Bay and its pubs and fish and chips are great for the locals, its not something that I would recommend for visitors to Sydney. There are many far more interesting things to spend your time and effort on.
