My first time here this morning - a quaint location on Pitt Street in Sydney's CBD. Met an ex colleague for a drink only - a decent bar area with a reasonable range of beverages. Too early for lunch which they serve from 12 noon but we were not planning on having a meal here anyway.

Used to frequent this bar when I lived in Sydney as an expat a few years ago. Recently visited a few times on a long stay business trip and pleased to say it's retained its character and vibe. Ben behind the bar is welcoming and provided much needed hospitality at the end of a few very long days. All round,... More

This is a good old traditional pub, great atmosphere, and very charming, On a recent visit with a friend, we had been in the pub nearly an hour having lunch and 2 drinks, and being served by very friendly girls. I assume this guy, with what sounded like a Scottish accent had just started his shift as we'd not seen... More

I always stay on Pitt Street when in Sydney but I have never paid any attention to the Angel Hotel when walking up and down Pitt St between the hotel and meetings. What a mistake this was. I visited this week and it is a great pub. Lots of character and atmosphere with a good selection of fine tasting beer.... More

Little gem for lunch. Gourmet sandwich glass of wine for $10 for lunch great to just pop in take a few office mates for a quick break. Art neavou old world charm although I hear a reno is to shortly occur. Second floor with the lounges is a little hidey hole you could get lost in for a few hours.

Tucked almost anonymously in the street corner, this pub has all the attributes of an old world public house. Low lighting, with dark wood lined walls, art nouveaus stained glass, pressed metal ceilings, and a traditional bar complete with stools, coat hangers under the bar-top, etc.. The selection of beers ranges from the mass produced to more boutique types to... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
