A bustling place to be on a work day. Very busy and a great place to relax and watch the world go by. Heaps of shops and malls to explore and buskers along the mall to watch and listen to. This is an icon in Sydney and you must visit when in Sydney.

With lots of fabulous shops and cafes this is a must do for visitors to Sydney who like to shop. Close to public transport and conveniently located its very easy to access. My daughter wasn't so keen on shopping and I would've liked to have seen more but I'll be back!

This is by no means a huge mall, so it won't take long to walk and browse through here. There are some good shops located here but probably the highlight is having the Westfield Centrepoint Tower located on the corner which offers great shopping and dining. The Mall itself was nothing special - probably needs a bit of life injected... More

This is our favourite pedestrian shopping street in the CBD. A short strip surrounded by big name malls, our favourite is the smaller strand arcade, which is in the style of a European covered passage. Definitely worth a visit for lovers of all things shopping.

Conveniently located close to public transport, hotels, offices and tourist attractions. Good place for shopping and walking distance to well known brand name retail shops and QVB shopping complex.

This is a lively mall with entertainers playing music in the pedestrian walking area and lots of shops to choose from. These aren't the designers shops in Westfield with $3,000 shoes, actually shops people can afford. Quite busy with lots of tourists and locals alike. Definitely worth a visit.

My favorite Sydney shopping destination with Myer and surrounding stores on one side and David Jones and surrounding stores on the other (my favorite side). From high end stores; Gucci, Christian Louboutin, Prada etc to more affordable H&M, Zara, Uniqlo, Gap and Australian favorites Country Road, Witchery etc all the stores are here. I like the outdoor mall atmosphere as... More

Fantastic shopping and good atmosphere. We went here just after Christmas so the mall was beautifully decorated with Christmas lights and ornaments, very beautiful to walk down.

It's Sunday afternoon and you've just set foot in Sydney. Are you staying downtown and don't know where to go? How about some retail therapy? Pitt Street Mall is all you need.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
