The Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust is responsible for managing two of Australia’s premier sports venues – the Sydney Cricket Ground and Allianz Stadium. Both venues are located at Moore Park, only 4km from the central business district and adjacent to the popular bars, restaurants, cinemas and shops of the Entertainment Quarter. The historic Sydney Cricket Ground boasts an impressive list of credentials, encompassing cricket, Australian Rules Football, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Soccer, Baseball, Cycling and major concerts by the Rolling Stones, Billy Joel and Elton John, Michael Jackson, Madonna, the Eagles, Prince, Green Day and the Wave Aid concert. The Sydney Cricket Ground provides the perfect balance between the big crowd atmosphere and intimacy with the on-field action. These aspects, combined with the location of the venue, make visiting the SCG a special experience for all patrons.

If you follow Cricket, then no visit to Sydney is complete without a visit to the SCG. It is an iconic ground with the traditional pavilion surrounded by more modern seating. Viewing is excellent from all round and there are plenty of concessions to keep fed and watered with typical Aussie tucker. I last visited to watch the Big Bash... More

As mentioned I had never watched cricket before but the atmosphere was electric and once I figured out the rules it was really fun to watch. Food and drink are expensive but worth it for the length of the game. I went to the BBL game which are shorter than test matches and I found it a good length of... More

SCG Day 5 of the Pink Test was a massive disrespect to cricket fans. Unable to buy tickets, unable to secure shaded seating because half of the cricket ground was closed, unable to park in the regular carpark, the ubiquitous gangs of police filling the walkways. No advance information was provided that over half of the SCG would be closed... More

Having been to many ODIs and T20s, the SCG was to be my first experience of test match cricket. A significant (and laughable - call that rain? Try Ireland!) rain delay meant we had ample opportunity to check out the facilities of the SCG. From the modern stands like the Noble - full of comfort, shelter, great bar and food... More

Attended day 1 and 3 of New Year Test. Quick and easy entry to the ground, seating well signed and plenty of food outlets and facilities. We have been in the Bill OReilly stand and it has been perfect. Public transport buses back to central station. As with all stadiums food is a little expensive but his can be managed... More

Very well organised event, would recommend this as a must see. Very quick and easy to get in, easy to find our seats, plenty of toilets and food outlets. Lots of security guards and police doing a fantastic job of controlling the crowd when some had too much to drink not making a fuss for the rest of us. Good... More

If you are interested in cricket or looking for a new spectator experience I recommend an SCG experience of night cricket. Getting home however can be a hassle especially if you can't access public transport and have to use the grassed car park areas.

Go and see Sydney Swans AFL if visiting Sydney!! For visitors to Sydney, get accommodation nearby - inner city or eastern suburbs. The big negative is the location - you either deal with very heavy traffic congestion (if driving) or very poor public transport from other Sydney locations (e.g. Northern Beaches) on AFL match days.

While the cricket is grand, we watched the big bash. The food selection is rubbish is you happen to be coeliac, fries, that was it. There was nothing else out daughter could eat.
