Your host is Richard Everett, the only Oenologist (or winemaker) conducting a small group or private wine tour of the Hunter Valley Wine Country. His guests get a unique behind the scenes insight into how the best wines of the Hunter Valley are made, with private guided tastings of the top wines at the best & most interesting of the 140+ wineries. Richard conducts the wine tastings, not the sales staff at the wineries, so you are spared the heavy sales pitch of their commercial wines & get to experience many wines not offered to the general public. Morning tea is at the famous Peppers Guesthouse & lunch is at the award winning Muse Cafe. Tours are available ex Sydney or from within the Hunter Valley.

Richard was a fantastic guide. He created a fun environment while also teaching us tons about Australia wines and wine in general. I have done many tastings and wine tours before in other parts of the world and this was certainly he most in depth...More

Richard's ability to communicate information is the real standout of this tour. Rarely have I been so engaged by an expert, as he spoke extensively on the science, history and business of wine making. During the wine tasting, he clearly and methodically explained the processes...More

Earlier this week we did a tour with Richard to the Hunter Valley. I did a lot of homework and saw his reviews were excellent and that he did higher end wine tours. We were not disappointed as Richard is extremely knowledgeable about the wine...More

We had an awesome day with Richard in the beautiful Hunter Valley. In short, this was the most educational wine tasting experience we ever had, including years of wine tasting in California, France, Italy, and other regions in Europe and North America. Totally agree with...More

I didn't want to hop on a bus and get shepherded around a mass market wine brand. Richard offered a very bespoke and educational experience which was extremely enjoyable. Even the drive to the vineyards was interesting with conversations about the history of Australia and...More

We went on a tour with Richard yesterday and were awed by all his knowledge! He shared so much information and chatted about wine, the region, the country, politics, other current topics, just everything in depth, so that the 2 hour drive to and 2.5...More

We enjoyed our day tour to the Hunter Valley with Richard. We chose this tour because he takes small groups and concentrates on wine making and tasting, and doesn't visit other "attractions". He has a great deal of knowledge about the industry and the Hunter...More

We had an informative and thoroughly enjoyable day out with Richard. All the other tours I had reviewed in advance seemed to follow the exact same formula of people being herded around to big wineries and eating cheese/chocolate, whereas this tour gave the impression of...More

We took a tour of the Hunter Valley with Richard and happened to be the only people booked that day, so we got our own private tour. It was a wonderful day with Richard, he arranged for us to visit three wineries and really gave...More
