Your host is Richard Everett, the only Oenologist (or winemaker) conducting a small group or private wine tour of the Hunter Valley Wine Country. His guests get a unique behind the scenes insight into how the best wines of the Hunter Valley are made, with private guided tastings of the top wines at the best & most interesting of the 140+ wineries. Richard conducts the wine tastings, not the sales staff at the wineries, so you are spared the heavy sales pitch of their commercial wines & get to experience many wines not offered to the general public. Morning tea is at the famous Peppers Guesthouse & lunch is at the award winning Muse Cafe. Tours are available ex Sydney or from within the Hunter Valley.

Wow what an experience. My husband and I have been spending time for the past 20 years exploring the wine regions of California. We recently had the opportunity expand our horizons and visit the Hunter Valley wine region of Australia. We were lucky enough to...More

I was a little apprehensive going into this tour as the drive to vineyards from Syndey is quite a trek and finding something to talk about before we got to the vineyards seemed daunting, but my concerns were assuaged as we quickly fell into an...More

My husband and I went on this tour with Richard, and so glad we booked it! This was our 5th time back in the Hunter and usually when we do a wine tour we just get rushed around to tastings without getting a insight on...More

Went on a tour with Richard this past weekend. He is very interesting and gave us a great insight into the growing of the grapes, the harvesting of the grapes, the processing of the grapes and the end results. We learnt how the age of...More

It's a wine tour, a class, to learn about wine, particularly about wine in Australia and Hunter valley. I'm frequent traveller, and joined many wine tours/visit to wineries myself, around Asia, Europe, and Australia/New Zealand. This tour, was very knowledgeable. But, if you are not...More

In a good way, that is. In this tour Richard Everett, a man who has worked in various areas of the wine business his entire career, provides an in-depth examination of wines from two quality Hunter Valley producers. During the stops you are encouraged to...More

This is the only tour to do if you want to learn something about Hunter Valley and it’s wines. We had a lengthy stop at Tyrells followed by lunch in Muse and a wine tasting in Hungerford Hill. It is extremely personal and informative. A...More

A fascinating introduction to winemaking in the Hunter Valley. Richard conducts the entire tour himself and has a great deal of insider knowledge from his time in the wine industry - we learned a huge amount during the course of the day and were able...More

We were pleasantly surprised by our winery tour. We have tasted many wines, but this taught us what to look for in a wine. His approach is very easy to understand and brings a new appreciation to visiting wineries. Thank you!
