We could have easily spent more time at the market, we arrived late early afternoon, but the market closes at 3 pm. Great for your souvenir shopping at excellent prices, far less in cost than other shops around Sydney. Allow a couple of hours

Visited Haymarket - bitterly disappointed! Endless stalls of crap quality things. Nothing worthwhile at all! And to top it off it was sticky and hot in the shed... won't bother ever again..😞

Hundreds of little stalls selling trinkets and gizzits of all sizes shapes and colours. Brilliant value.

One of the iconic building in Sydney. There's a tram station to the Central Station just outside the market. The 1st and 2nd level of this shopping mall were for apparels, restaurant and some coffee stalls. I had a good pulled beef sandwich (or was it pork?) from one of the stall at the 1st Floor before I went down... More

Paddy's Market is open daily except Mondays and Tuesdays. We went there on a weekend and enjoyed strolling through and looking at the many stalls selling items such as clothing, hats, binoculars, souvenirs as well as much more. Close by is Chinatown where we went for lunch.

Sydney is not known for being cheap to live in and generally everything is a little more pricey than at home in europe. However if like us, you have a number of friends and family you would like to to take home some souvenirs to then be sure to make this trip out, one of your first. You can literally... More

After enjoying the vibe of china town, paddys is a good way to finish a visit. There are 100,s of stalls, selling just about everything you could want at a market from cheap souvenirs to cloths, hats, watches, towels, Chinese knick knacks, even wigs and hair extensions, all sorts of gears. Don't miss the fruit and veg section, amazing value... More

This is a huge indoor market in the Haymarket District, open from Wednesday to Saturday, and we walked the many aisles checking out the varied wares (the front part of the market is like a glorified flea market). We then followed the signs to the meat, fish, and fruit and vegetable stalls and this part was so interesting. Lots of... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Tiger-flanked archways on Dixon Street mark the entrance to the “little Asia” of Sydney. A walk through Chinatown is a feast for the senses where aromas, tastes, sounds and visions of dancing tigers transport you to a different world. Chinatown visitors can expect a melting pot of Asian food at the neighbourhood's specialty delis and groceries. From yum cha to handmade noodles, BBQ ducks hanging in the window to Asian sweets and bakeries, there is something for all tastes. Paddy’s Markets is the largest flea market in Sydney where you can find souvenirs, clothing, gifts and fruit and vegetables at unbeatable prices. At night, Chinatown comes alive with entertainment including theatre, nightclubs and bars that are open until the early morning.
