When visiting Manly most people out for a walk will end up at Shelly Beach, a beautiful little beach which is busy every day. Little cafe's are located along the way with great views, visitors to Sydney would love this little beach.

Shelley Beach seemed so much less touristy than Manly Beach. The walk from Manly to Shellly Beach winds past houses a few local restaurants. There is also a "pool" that has been built into the beach, it offers a safe place for children or people, like me, who cannot swim in the ocean.

In the morning, the sun not at his top, the best way to start the morning. Sitting on a bench nearby looking over the beach, looking at the waves. A lovely way to begin the day.

It makes for an interest although short walk. We caught the ferry to Manley and headed through the town to wards Shelly beach. It has some interesting sculptures. If you are lucky you might sea some water dragons sitting sunning themselves on the rocks.

One of the best surfers beach in Sydney near Manly... Make sure you have adequate preparation to go and surf... Do not surf in the evenings or late evenings. Best advised time is around 8AM to 2PM ... Later as the day goes, Tides are bit high causing sometimes scary situations that might affect you. Learners and Experts to do... More

This would have to be one of Sydney's best beaches. Calm and relatively peaceful. You'll have to paddle out if you want to catch some waves but closer to shore you snorkel with the fish and enjoy the sun.

The walk to Shelly Beach is a lovely scenic and not challenging walk, can get very busy when the weather is nice, well worth the time to take in this walk if you are visiting Manly

This is one of my favourite little beaches in Sydney. It is always busy but you can see why when you get there. Fantastic spot of to scuba dive or have a picnic

I have been to Manly many times but never before had I walked to Shelley Beach. I was keen to go there because as a teenager living in South Australia I had read about the Fairy Bower surf break in many of my old surf magazines.today it didn't look anywhere a scary as it had appeared in magazine images all... Staying in Manly

Neighbourhood Profile
Manly
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
