Depending upon where you access the gardens, you will come across wonderful trees, shrubs and birds. Walking around, and viewing in different directions, uncovers beautiful landscapes and super camera snapping. I loved the trees; huge, majestic and wonderfully weird shapes. Not to be missed. Super with family and, weather permitting, perfect for picnics.

Relaxing day in the park. This is a popular picnic place with a wonderful view of the city and the Opera house. Bring your blankets and your food just be careful of the birds who will try to steal your food.

We only seen a small section of the gardens. Could easily spend the day here walking around and having a picnic. The gardens are very well taken care of.

Large and peaceful garden. The Royal Botanic Garden was established some 200 years ago and is situated on the edge of the Harbour. The Garden is filled with huge, lush and all sorts of plants. It's a nice place to have a walk/jog/ picnic. My favorite spot was near the duck pond. Loved visiting it when I was in town..

Excellent. A free day out ;) hard to find free things these days. A lovely place to stroll or picnic. Would be a lovely place for wedding day photos. Beautiful views and a slower pace, in an otherwise frantic city. Can get busy, especially in summer, but big enough to find a spot to yourself.

To be fair, visiting a garden is not my cup of tea. The walk through the grounds was great and peaceful...the birds were calming...it just wasn't an attraction that I would go out of my way to see. I happened to go through on a morning run. If you like gardens I am sure you'll like this one.

Don't miss this amazing place. Right beside the cbd. The gift shop has the best quality souvenirs I have seen in a long time. The gardens are large and peaceful and you don't realise how close you are to the city. A must do for locals and tourists.

Highly recommended visit. The trees and plants are so interesting and well kept. Runners seem to enjoy this area also.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
