This was our very first trip to Australia, and Bondi our very first attraction after arriving in Sydney, and set the stage for a near perfect five days in paradise. The sand, the waves, the scenery, the friendly people... a truly cosmopolitan, diverse, family-friendly place...More

Spoiler I am from Western Australia so hard to impress with a beach. This was just ok, homeless people about, surfer dudes, lots of tourists from overseas. The beach was busy but not packed, surf was up and looked good. Sand very yellow and nothing...More

Well its not the weather !!! But it is that they have a main busy road separating and a big beach . They also have a bit of a tacky strip and that is how I found Bondi . Its also not on the ferry...More

I was disappointed by Bondi Beach. I found it rather ordinary and frankly a bit tacky. Sydney is such a fabulous city, so I was surprised that Bondi Beach didn't live up to the hype. If you have limited time, I suggest Manly Beach as...More

The beach is beautiful with fine white sand. Between the beach and road there is a field of green which is great for picnics. Take bus 333 from Bondi Junction train station. There are shops along the main road with good food and beach stuff....More

Beautiful town by the seashore with a very lively bubbly atmosphere, the cleanliness was amazing of both beach and footpaths. The choice of places to eat and shop was also great an absolute visit again 4 days wasn't enough.

Bondi Beach is clean with nice sand, however it's just another beach. I don't find it any more spectacular than any other nice beach. Don't quite understand why it is so popular. I would say the beach is fairly small as well. Can easily walk...More

For me it was a bit disappointing. I like Brontë and Tamarama beach much more. But of course this beach is so famous you definitely must go there and see it yourself. Behind the beach many nice restaurants. Busy place.

I don't know when the calmest conditions are but my girls swam in mid June (which is their winter) and they didn't think it was cold.
