Neighbourhood: Bondi Beach
An iconic Australian suburb, Bondi Beach is famous for its fantastic beaches and views. Once the domain of backpackers, hundreds of tourists from all over the world descend en masse to Bondi in December ready to enjoy the "Aussie summer". Bondi Beach boasts impressive ocean views all along the many restaurants and bars on Campbell Parade. Wake up early and take a dip in the surf before walking the scenic stretch from Bondi to Coogee Beach. Stroll through the Saturday organic markets in North Bondi or grab some fish and chips and relax in the grassy area opposite the beach. For more upscale cuisine, head down to Hall Street where a range of new eateries have recently opened. Just make sure to save enough energy for the buzzing nightlife Bondi Beach has to offer.

    Mandatory
Bondi Beach is an iconic place close to Sydney. It's well known abroad and deserves this qualification. The beach is simply stunning. Brave, big and very beautiful. We obviously took a bath there and the experience was amazing. Then you've got a walking promenade, plenty of shops, restaurants, etc... and the town itself is very nice. Definitely, a mandatory place to go

It was nice, BUT not sure what the big deal is...maybe if you're a surfer?
Nice beach. It was not crowded the day we went. It was part of a tour we did of Sydney. We had lunch at a restaurant located on the beach and later relaxed here for a short while. The sand was soft, and the water temperature was okay. I'm not a surfer, so I can't address that aspect. Overall, it was a nice beach, but nothing exceptional. What DID work? I don't generally like beer, but the restaurant waiter suggested one popular in Australia (Bundaberg ginger beer) and I loved it! I have found it here at home!

A beautiful beach well worth the visit
This beach is stunning! With soft powder white sand which is clean tidy well looked after with life guards and safe areas to swim / surf. The water was clear and cool on a hot day. There are fresh water showers and a changing area and toilet facilities in the pavilion. Al' top tips Catch the 333 bus from Circular Quay in Sydney all the way to the beach.

    Bondi Bliss
I've been a huge fan of the TV sho 'Bondi Rescue' for years & always wanted to visit the famous Bondi Beach. I couldn't believe how magical it is in real life. It was even more enjoyable as we visited on a weekday & there were very few people on the beach. I was able to get photos of some of the most famous scenes from the show, but I wasn't able to get a photo with one of the lifeguards. I will definately be coming back, hopefully when its a little warmer so I can swim in the ocean & possibly dine at Icebergs restaurant.

Well worth going to say been there done that.
Visited on Thursday 25th May. I spent a couple hours wondering around checking out Bondi Beach, the cliff walks, the pavilion and the main street. Well worth going to say been there done that.

Family trip 4 days in Bondi
The waverley walk is amazing and very well worth while. I would stay at Bondi Hotel if you can. The cocktails are $14 about £7 and it is open mon-sat till 12 and till late. Closed early on a Sunday. Other bars are open but can be expensive as shots can be $30 each. The staff at bondi hotel are amazing and just across the road from the beach. The Pavillion restaurant breakfast from 930-11am is amazing. The bacon and eggs on toast are fab, as is the yogurt granola (incs liquorice and surprising great). Breakfast including, coffee 2 drinks, 1 granola bowl and 2 bacon eggs toast about £35. This is a contract to 2018 when would have been double even though the exchange rate is about the same 1.8 to pound in 2018 and 1.9 in Nov 23. We went to Coggee Bay in 2018 and that was fab too but prefer Bondi Beach as a little more going on and access to other places is great. Tip - get the 303 bus into Sydney for $20 from the shop. We had 4 trips into Sydney off peak and a trip on the ferry from Sydney to Darling Harbour and back. A bargain for £10. A must. the supermarkets are so much cheaper than 2018, a great surprise. However, if you smoke they are $65 for 25...yes £33. My one son smoked so a bit of a shock, but I agree keep them expensive to discourage smoking. Their local chemists are really cheap so no need to pack suncream (a bucket of factor 50 is £7.....to encourage you to use it, great idea), shampoo etc. Really loved Bondi Beach, so clean and beautiful.

Bondi fever - Bondi draws the crowds
Took the train and bus to Bondi - head for the beach at Bondi, when we visit Sydney. Beach, glistening ocean still draws the crowds, the life-saver statue is a reminder, though, of caution. The Bondi Pavilion has been updated and has undergone an amazing transformation. Not been to Sydney in a long time, we'll come again soon. (I have gait/walking challenges (stroke), wear a legbrace.)

Check out the icebergs if you want safe swimming
We took a look at the beach and decided to go to the icebergs instead and then do the coastal walk. Well worth walking along to get to the free pools though rather than paying for the icebergs. The beach was too busy for us but the waves and surf looked good but it wasn’t as spectacular as we were made to believe.

    Great!
The photo here is of Tamarama Beach not Bondi Beach. Bondi Beach is a kilometer long. I lived here a long time ago and it has not changed, it is brilliant! If you're in Sydney, you must make the effort to walk on the beach.

Bondi Beach is iconic, probably the most famous beach in the world. I loved it. People are chilled, beach is great. I was surprised that the sea wasn't as warm as I'd expected. Once you are in the water, it's great. The surf smashes into you and really takes you off your feet. If you have children, they will need you around in the water with them. Great place.

Visited this Iconic beach setting in Sydney. Glad I went, but not as good as Manly Beach. Plenty of shops and restaurants, but a little pricey!

We had to go to Bondi at least once while we were in Sydney and it was worth it. The waves were amazing and we had a great time playing in them. They do get quite large so you need to pay attention and know what you are doing. We also walked the path south of the beach and the views are fantastic.

approx 25 mins from the city or airport Bondi beach is an amazing , huge beach with gorgeous white, clean sand. ( no smoking or dogs).Plenty of space but the majority sit between or near the flags- this is where you are supposed to swim as monitored. Many swim/ surf outside this area but there are rips which can drag you back so take care. Waves are the main fun part of the beach- great for teenagers & adults to have fun in but there are other beaches eg Rose bay nearby which are flat & good for kids & swimming in. Bondi Iceburg pool costs apx £9 for adults- salt water & not always calm but the small pool attached is nicer. You need ID to get into the restaurant there (adults only) & it serves nice food/ drinks. There is a popular walk along the coast ( lots of steps up/ down) to Coogee- worth doing.
On the beachfront there are souvenir shops, chemists, supermarket and a Mcdonalds plus lots of smaller cafes and one very popular bar on the corner of Hall st. ( 18-40's range). Most importantly next to the beach there are excellent facilities to change , basic showers & toilets & a lovely restaurant. There are also large grass areas & trees to get shade. The bus stop is next to the beach-333 will take you direct to the city- or go to Bondi junction (10 mins) & change to the train -this is quicker but more hassle- although the transport system in Sydney/Bondi is cheap and very good whether you use bus/ train / tram or uber. You can just pay with your bank or credit card- no need to get an Opal card- same price -tap on/ off. I recommend buying sun protection there as the quality is far better than Europe lotion.

Every trip to Sydney includes a stop in Bondi. I have never been particularly fond of this beach. While the beach and fine sand is nice, it usually is very crowded, not so much on this visit in July. I noticed more garbage on the ground than ever before. Bondi Beach is easy to get to by transit. I prefer the beaches to the north, particularly Palm Beach.

We had the best time looking at tide pools and exploring the area. Some kids pointed out an octopus in the tide pool and that was super cool to see. We saw lots of different sea creatures including starfish and large crabs. It was a beautiful Saturday and quite busy, but we had a lot of fun at this famous beach.

Great thing about Bondi is that you have plenty of accommodation, shops and restaurants all by the beach. The beach itself is over crowded and the sand is dirty.

We spent about an hour on Bondi Beach just walking around and enjoying the views. Took the Sydney Hop On/Hop Off Bus and it was one of our stops on the blue line. Definitely worth the quick stop. Next time I'd bring swimsuit/towel and enjoy 1/2 day there including lunch and shopping.
