Exploring Manly was one of most fun and memorable activities that we did in Sydney. The trail is beautiful and the views from the cliffs are amazing. We even came across the World War II gun pits!

The walk is a beautiful thing, just don't get caught in the rain like I did. Take it slow and enjoy the stoll.

We enjoyed the breeze along the walkways. Stopped to watch some school boys climb a fence and clamber over the rocks and summersault into the crashing waves. Beautiful views.

I did the full 10km Manly from Balmoral walk and it was really beautiful. If it's a hot day - bring water and lots of it. The great thing is along the way there are beaches and great spots to take a dip. In fact, one of the coolest things we did while on this walk is stop by a... More

Enjoyed our walk on the Manly Walkway. Great views and it was a sunny and comfortable summer day! The walk is hilly with some steps and not a smoothe surface.

The views from up high are amazing and the paths are easy to walk on. You can stop on the way for fruit ice pops or coffee and continue back to the beach.

A magical place, we took the Manly ferry, it is quite a journey but very pleasent. Upon arrival it was easy to see that this town and beech was buzzing. Loads of sports on the beech, golden sands, great shopping and eating areas. there was a gym and a sports assualt course on the beech also. the sand was fine,... More

It is a fairly long walk, but well worth it, lots of colourfull birds, great trees, and breath taking views. Most of the houses here are to die for. Take a piknik and plenty of water and wine, and plan for an entire day...

I thoroughly enjoy catching a ferry from Circular Quay to Manly, then heading north, walking along the beaches and coastline. Take a cossie with you and enjoy a swim here and there...great fun!

Staying in Manly

Neighbourhood Profile
Manly
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
