This walkway is literally on our doorstep and I have yet to get bored of it (have been waling it every week for over 10 years now)! Stroll for a small section of the walk, jog it daily for exercise or walk the full route...More
I went to Manly based on several recommendations from locals received during my trip to Sydney.
Their main comments were that it's a little more "original" than world famous beaches such as Bondi and would be a beautiful experience.
They were 100% right. I had...More
Bring your bathing suit and your walking shoes, because both the walking and the swimming here are simply lovely. After leaving the beach area you walk further to a nice view of the ocean. There are a couple of nice cafes right at the beginning...More
We took the fast ferry to Manly Beach from Circular Quay - a lovely way to take in the harbor sights. The Manly Beach was crowded but still fun as we walked to Shelley Beach. Lots of restaurants and shops. Glad we went!
The Manly Scenic Walkway especially between Manly and Shelly Beach past the natural reserve is beautiful. From the Harbor side to the beach side of Manly is only a few blocks and it is a wonderful family friendly beach. A very fun afternoon was spent...More
We were so happy that we made our way via ferry to Manly Beach. The place was enchanting and beautiful! We loved our various walks and were glad that we'd been given a tour/information map to use as we might have missed out on the...More
Manley beach itself is stunning but the scenic walk takes on a different meaning sea to your side as you walk along and the modern architecture scattered about with the animals also in view makes for a stimulating stroll
We arrived by ferry, walked straight up the main pedestrian street, and arrived at the scenic walkway (South Steyne) in about ten minutes. With restaurants on the right and the Pacific Ocean on the left, who could ask for anything more??! The walkway continues closer...More
This is a good walk, but it could be better marked, and by the time we got out onto the North Head it was more of a hike than a walk. Be sure to get a map at the information center near the ferry dock...More
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants
as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
