We stayed in Sydney for six days and were a little skeptical about spending a whole day away but wow, what a great time we had! It was my husband and my first wine tour so we weren't sure what to expect. We were picked up at a location close to our hotel and were given the option to sit... More

Our "up to four" tasting tour visited a couple of vineyards, a barrel shop and a beer/wine store. The tastings were more than adequate; the vineyard/tasting shop individuals were knowledgeable. That being said, our driver was not. He added nothing of value to the visit. We also did the 4WD wildlife tour with Steve--a role model for all tour guides.

Excellent tour and well planned itinerary. Derek was such a gracious tour guide and because we had time,he even showed us the local kangaroos hanging out in the fields. All the wineries we went to welcomed each guest warmly and heaps of wines were available for tasting! Well worth it.

We went on the tour on March 21st our driver Bill was excellent very pleasent and helpful He went out of his way to drop us at the statton at the end of the tour because It was raining very hard The wineries were great. Overall it was a very good, but long day. Bill, our driver/guide was knowledgable and efficient but we would have enjoyed more commentary during our time in the van. The wineries we visited were all great - sampled a nice variety of wines. Could have done without the visit to the chocolate shop. Would recommend

This tour wasn't relaxing. We felt like we were on a supersonic conveyer belt. Our driver Bill was edgy in terms of manner and aggressive in his F1 style driving. Even in very wet conditions he drove far too quickly. 2 out of the 4 wineries seemed interested in us. Not great. Sorry folks.

Went with a couple of friends when I visited Sydney. We chose this tour as it was one of the few that picked up from Sydney. We looked into getting there by public transport, as most tours seemed to pick up from within the Hunter Valley, but we were limited on time and this didn't seem like a good option... More

We had a fantastic time, touring the Hunter Valley. We saw 4 wineries, a chocolate factory and as a bonus our driver Bill, took us to the smelly cheese shop in the Roche vinery. Our co passengers who came from NZ, USA, UK were all great company and we all got on really well. Our favourite winery was Briars Ridge.... More

Ian, our guide/driver was very courteous and efficient. He provided a good overview of the Hunter Valley area and the vineyards we were to visit. The MB mini bus was a perfect size and comfortable. The highlight of the day was the last stop at Capercaillie. We learned a lot about the wine varietals and how best to pare with... More

Staying in Kings Cross

Neighbourhood Profile
Kings Cross
Changing liquor laws are remodeling "The Cross," Sydney's red light district. These new rules have encouraged trendy cafes and boutiques to pop-up in the area, as well as organic markets on Saturdays. The area's nightclubs are still popular with youngsters, however, who will dance to the early morning hours on weekend nights. There are plenty of artifacts from Kings Cross' shady past when gangsters and liquor houses owned the place. Today, one can still find a variety of adult entertainment venues in this evolving area.
