We did this our first day in Sydney. It was awesome! The tour ran for about 3.5 hours. We saw a lot of good locations and found out the history behind the areas. Some of the locations included the rum hospital, QVB, Hyde Park, Martin's place, the rocks, the opera house, etc. All locations came with stories of the European... More

The guide is very interesting and know about his city! Without taking the tour we didn't know the history and some hidden spots! Even we were in the neighborhood by ourselves for a few times! They have a couple of tours but due to short time in Sydney we took 3 hours Sydney tour. Wish we have more time for... More

This tour is a good way to get your bearings in Sydney. While the tour lacks depth, it is a good first-day activity, as it gives some historical information, and shows the walkability from one point to another. There are no actual visits to the sights, but introduces one to places to see in depth later.

Great tour from Dee, well worth joining to see parts of city you wouldn't find on your own. Excellent stories of the area, historical and contemporary plus personal recommendations of activities and eating places from a local. Tour takes up to 3 hours you need to be a fairly quick walker. Pay for tour as a tip, according to your... More

Meet at the town large groups split in two. Don't worry if you get Dee she may look small and dainty but that girl can project her voice. You will hear everyword. The time flew by, she makes sure you stay together and fills the time with interesting facts you would have scour guides for and then some. It's useful... More

The I'm Free walking tours are a great way to get a flavor of Sydney upon arrival. We did ours on our first day there and it was a great way of seeing all the major sites and singling out the places we wanted to go back to. Ross, our guide, was never short on useful tips to make the... More

I took this tour with my sister who has lived in Sydney for a short time. We both learned so much while enjoying the walk, the other tourists and our guide. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly & helpful.

My husband and I took this tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a great guide who was easily heard even though we had a large group. He was funny and quite informative. The walk was about 2.5 hours and we covered a lot of ground. Be sure to bring water, a hat, and sunscreen! The company also offers tours... More

This tour is technically free but tips are encouraged based on your perception of value. From my standpoint the value is excellent so I tipped well, as did everyone around me. I had just arrived in Sydney after a 16 hour plane ride from Los Angeles and wanted to do something to keep me awake until night. This involved a... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
