The area
Address
Neighbourhood: The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.

One of the best spots to do a sailaway on our Royal Princess, perfect location, easy to reach via train and easy to navigate, staff very friendly and helpful. Best possible start to cruise.

Always a fascinating area sandwiched as it is between The Rocks and Circular Quay. Lots of happy people, many with suitacases embarking or disembarking from the giant cruise ships that dock here. We passed by four days in a row and saw four different liners! Good business for Sydney no doubt. Excellent views of the Bridge and the Opera House and all the ferries coming and going to and fro. Surely one of the best terminals for cruise liners in the world?

We have visited many international terminals in our cruising adventures, this one by far far has the best location in the world, for its proximity to the city and its stand out scenic location.

Easy parking for taxis for dropping off passengers at the cruise ship. It is located at Circular Quay. The outside area of the terminal was a bit congested with people waiting to go on the cruise while there were passengers disembarking. Although friendly, the outside attendants were a little disorganised and vague with their announcements and information. Once we were inside, things went like clockwork.

The Overseas Passenger Terminal is a very large area serving as the point of arrival and departure for tourists on cruise ships and ocean liners. We were there recently visiting and it is an impressive structure. It is probably not so much a tourist attraction as a tourist point of reference! There are some tourist shops inside including eateries. Worth a stroll.

Our cruise ship docked at the Overseas Cruise Terminal on our second day visiting Sydney. As a transit passenger from a cruise ship it’s really good with no hassle getting on/off the ship.
It’s situated at Circular Quay with great walks in both directions along the waterfront and it’s a straight walk up to the city centre or to the Rocks.
Lots of restaurants, bars and shops in the close vicinity with the Cruise Bar attached to the terminal being a lively bar at night.

It is a bit or a shock to see so many people waiting in line to go through immigration.
This was the best organised chaos that I have lined up for. We did not have to wait long to reach an emigration officer and then through security and onto the ship.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

We've passed in and out of this terminal several times and each one was a pleasure as the processing of passengers was very efficient. Lots of tourist shops right there as well as places to eat and drink. Perfect location for access to the Bay tourist area as well as trains, buses and ferries.
