There is no opportunity to buy tickets at a window from a human being! They are there but closed down... So if you battle with the machines at Manly - buy a return ticket. It is chaos to buy a ticket back from Sydney to Manly as in January 2017 most of the automatic ticket machines had broken down and... More

I really enjoyed the trip on the ferry to Manly. It was a really lovely day and the trip was very peaceful. Lots of people taking photos, so you needed to be strategic. Many families among the tourists and lots of beach lovers.

This was fun. It takes about 1/2 hour to get to Manly which looks quite interesting. I just took the boat ride there and back and it was a pleasant way to spend an hour in the searing heat. You can sit in the sun or stay in the shade, probably better on a hot day as it may get... More

They are very efficient in loading and uploading, there are some great sites to see in the short trip. It was $2.50 to uae the ferry on a Sunday well worth it. Photo is the opera house from the ferry

So easy to do without a car when staying at Manly and travelling into the city. Cheap and reasonable quick travel time as well as good sightseeing.

I took the ferry to the zoo then on to Manly. Had fish and chips - excellent - by the water then returned to Circular Quay. The ferries worked like clockwork. Great trip.

Bobbing along on the river past the Opera House and the naval base and the church where Nicole Kidman got married. What a lovely way to spend half hour. Even better if you meet someone on the ferry who points out various interesting buildings and fills your head with new facts. Get an outside seat if you can.
