We relied on public transportation while we were in Australia, and the ferries were easy to figure out and were a nice alternative to buses - with much better views!

Take ferry enjoy views and travelling day trip Manly. That travelling is very easy and I recommend that. You can see Sydney totally different side. Buy Opal card and load 20-30 AUD and you can take metro anywhere and travelling ferry. Remember you had to use opal card in and out.

After we got a handle on how the schedules worked, we loved the ferrys. They offer convenient reliable transportation, and nice views of the harbor.

With the OPAL travel card, taking the ferry is easy. OPAL card has a maximum spend of $15 per day ($2.50 on Sundays), irrespective of how much you travel on that day. We took the ferry from Circular Quay to Darling Harbour (as it went under the Harbour bridge)
