Nice nature with lots of places to visit, at least around Cessnock which is somewhat a bigger town. Lots and lots of wineries around which provide testing but the right way to do Hunters Valley is to take a tour.

Great day trip from Sydney, just about 2 hours drive away from the city. Winery hosts were friendly and we got to try lots of wine. Highly recommended for wine lovers!

Everything is over commercialised and the cellar doors are too focused on hitting their KPI's than explaining what you want to know about wine, histories and techniques.

Amazing wine country, many different options in wineries. Hire a car and do it your self, or take friends in a bus. Many accommodation options.

Many many vineyards offering free wine tasting. There's cheese, chocolate and jam factories within the estate too. Kangaroos can be spotted in the grassland. And one was "waiting" for us in the centre of the road when we drove uphill and hopped away gracefully as...More
