Nice to see someone has taken the time, to provide a museum to the Rats. Also someone mans the station daily, to keep it open. A small donation is all that is asked for, to view the collection. You can spend as long as you...More

The Desert Rat trail is set amidst Thetford Forest and runs for 2km through the woods with descriptive signs along the route. Look out for the tank at the entrance- you can't miss it.

A short Forrest stroll with info boards showing you the layout of the camp. There's work going on here looks like there making a museum. Worth a look

Dad was a desert Rat, so hearing about the memorial meant we had to visit. What a unique memorial to brave men.

Interesting and informative place to visit, lots of parking, great walks and dog friendly and also a caravan site close by.

Learn the local history of the Rats and enjoy a walk around their training camp, in Thetford Forest.

There is an old mounted tank providing the main focal point for remembrance. The 2 or so kilometre walk around the old camp and neighbouring forest is very pleasant but there is not a lot to see. The interpretive boards provide information that was helpful.
