Pls do not visit this place as this is a dilapidated fort with crumbling fort walls and nothing much to see. The Tipu Sultan's birthplace , which is 100 meters from the fort entrance is a nondescript masonry structure, not something one would expect for his birthplace.

This is a well maintained fort, famous as the birthplace of Tipu Sultan. There are a few temples inside the fort area.

It is located close to Bangalore airport.

Entry is free. The main things to see are the temples and the place where Tipu was born. One can also climb the walls

Devanhalli is 40 kms from Bengaluru towards international airport road. After Airport toll, devanhalli can be reached. It is the birthplace of Tipu Sultan. Haider ali who hails from Kolar has constructed rock fort. The fort premises has historical temples classified under Archeological dept of India.

There are good hotels near Devanhalli next to NH-7 is good for short outing .
Places nearer are Nandi hills, Muddenhalli, Rangasthala and others

There is nothing there except some fort walls and a sign. You will actually pass the fort and will not realize there is a fort. Definitely not recommend to go!!

Rode a bike to the place. Not much to see except some fort walls. Morning mentioned about the history except a board saying it’s Tipu Sultan’s birthplace. One can walk about about 20 steps either side of the road to take a look around.

When I googled places to see near Bengaluru airport, Devanahalli fort popped up. I loved the look of the pictures and decided to check it out. When I reached there, to say I was disappointed is an understatement. It’s not exactly a fort, rather it looks kinda like a super structure on the road. There’s not much to see or photograph. Personally I feel I’ve seen better forts and this was not at all impressive.

It is a little bit of a hike for senior citizens but for others it should be OK. the views atop the Fort are just mind boggling - You can see finally surrounding areas with very few vertical structures. Fresh Air and wanted greenery all available. Good for one visit at least. On a hot summer day, it could get very hot getting to the top.

The fort walls look impressive from the outside - but there is nothing comparable on the inside. The inside is a regular housing colony with busy neighbourhood. The best view is the one from the highway while driving past it.

It is situated on the side of NH 7. One can visit the fort on their way to Nandi hills. Unlike other forts, there's a village, schools and temples within the fort. There are gun points provided on the walls. One can walk along the walls of the fort and enjoy the views from bastions.
