The Roman town only a stone’s throw from Basel in SwitzerlandAn outing for the whole family that offers much and costs little. The imposing Roman theatre, the authentic Roman villa, the mysterious well shaft, the biggest silver treasure of late antiquity, accessible sewer tunnels and the winsome animals in the animal park are only a few of the attractions that you should not miss.Off to roman times!

This is a lovely historical attraction. The amphitheater is quite nice. The museum is not large, but is it very interesting and well laid out. Many of the exhibits are geared toward children and are interactive. The Roman house recreation is also very interesting.

What surprised me most was the size of the roman city. If you go there prepare to walk a lot to see all the place.

Every time I go back there is something new ... the silver collection is amazing. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is plenty of parking space available. There is also a small zoo. Worthwhile visit anytime.

We have visited many Roman ruins throughout Europe. Augusta Raurica, more than any other, carries an emphasis on the lives of children in Roman times. The museum was a welcome respite from the heat of a hot July afternoon and offers a good bit of...More

The museum and various sites were quite interesting. The museum was a welcome break from a hot summer day. Good displays in three languages.
