We did not go all the way down to the beach because it was quite a distance to get there and the tide was low for a considerable amount of time. It did seem to have quite a few rocks, and I think it was definitely best to appreciate it from the vantage point that we had.

Beautiful beach accessed from same carpark as that for Diamond Beach.
Step steps down (and back up!)
Signs say no swimming due to very strong currents but you can go in for paddle/up to your waist fairly safely.
Lots of beachside shacks selling food snacks and drinks.
Great spot to sunbathe and take photos.

The view from the top is stunning.

However, you need to pay the entrance fee and climb over 200 steps up and down. Some of them very challenging.

When you finally reach the beach, you will find the sign "no swimming". The sea is dangerous, the waves are bringing stones, sometimes very big.

We did what most people do. Stop, take photos and then got back in the taxi and drove to another beach for another view.

Very attractive and got some good shots.

We didn't quite go down to the beach as it was a fair way to get there and it was low tide for quite sometime. It did appear quite rocky and probably best to be enjoyed from the vantage point we had.

We had just spent 2 hours exploring Diamond Beach and tackling all the stairs so when we looked at the walk down to Atuh Beach we decided it was a big NO.They had beach umbrellas and places to get drinks and food but we were exhausted and many other people didnt do it either. If you are fit go for it and if its cool go for it but we are in our 60s and didnt want to get down there and then have to get back up in the blistering sun.Beautiful beach to have a swim.Ill just share my photos instead

Yes, the beach is beautiful ,
But super super crowded nowadays...
And big rip off business...chairs are 150.000 rp.....crazy....thats not a reasonable price, no way....
They charge money to wash your hands, feet and to take photos at certain points....also the most expensive entrance fee on the whole island - and they give you a plastic bottle of water for that so you can throw in the nature later like i see people doing....crazy stuff...
I would recommend you to go to Gamat bay where the chairs are free( the best snorkelling on Nusa Penida ) and no entrance fee and no crowds...or Swehan beach....you have the whole beach for yourself there...

This beach is absolutely breath taking. However, the trek down is not easy. It’s a marathon not a race so enjoy the view while taking it slow and wear good shoes! I’m surprised no one has mentioned it but we were bitten by tiny white crab. My husband and I thought it was just us but then we started watching everyone swimming and after a few minutes, people were getting out because they too were bit. Something to keep in mind, it could depend on the time you go. Sitting on the beach was perfect for us. Please respect the locals and take a break from your phones.
