Hit up Gamat Bay in Nusa Penida – The snorkeling's top-notch. Saw a turtle, which was cool. Chilled with a couple of Bintangs on the beach. Great spot, not too crowded. Definitely worth the trip.

This is the best place in all Nusa Penida to snorkel in if you want to snorkel by yourself from the beach, without paying money to those snorkelling trips that bring you here with the boat.... Better do it for free and on your own time...
Gamat bay does not have any accomodation yet, which is a pity, but the lovely family who has land there are hopefully gonna be able to start to build soon, so im pretty sure there will be place to stay soon, i would definetly sleep here instead of anywhere else.
Quiet, nice, clean beach with a good quality warung with the most lovely family.
And the best thing of all : THEY DONT CHARGE ENTRANCE FEE AND ITS THE ONLY BEACH ON THE WHOLE ISLAND WHERE YOU DONT HAVE TO PAY TO LIE DOWN ON A BEACH CHAIR.
In all other beaches you pay 150.000 rp for a chair, crazy.
No, this family is much smarter and it pays off.
Best place on the island if you like quiet, serene and good snorkelling.
Better standard reef and fish than in Amed, much better.
Lovely place.

We stopped at Gamat Bay on our snorkel tour. The snorkelling was incredible. Crystal clear water, incredible coral and tons of fish. The only disappointing thing was that some of the coral was marked up by tourist with their initials. I hope that the snorkel companies start to champion the preservation of the reefs. With the influx of tourists I expect that if action isn't taken, both the reef and the fish will be gone.

Beautiful wild beach, access by boat, on foot or scooter but be careful the road is bumpy with a steep descent.

From our Inn we took 15 minutes to get there, and 25 minutes to get back up.

Not practical for swimming because many corals so take your beach shoes, unless you come by boat, we come out with some scratches.

One of the blush points for snorkeling, the marine fauna is very beautiful and varied, turtles can also be observed.

Free beach, there is a restaurant on site.
