Stunning beach, well worth the visit and effort down and back up the steep steps.
Stunning beach and rocky outcrops in the ocean. Strong currents so not a swimming spot, but great for taking photos. Car park charge and given bottle of water. Access to both Diamond Beach and Atuh Beach from same spot. Very steep narrow path down to Diamond Beach - ropes in place at 2 points to help ‘easy abseil’. Long waits to get past these points due to lots of tourists in poor shoe wear and carrying lots of bags/towels/bottles etc leaving no free hands to help get up/down the path. Bit frustrating but worth the wait to enjoy the beach.

    Beautiful scenic view
Beautiful scenic place with great view. It’s entry is chargeable & they provide a bottle of mineral water along with ticket. There is a very steep staircase to reach the beach. But if one can manage to reach till end it’s very mesmerising . We can easily click pics from above too.

    Stunning at sunrise!
OMG! Go at sunrise. It’s so so beautiful in every sense of the way. The light changes so much afterwards that it does not even feel the same. Going down to the beach requires being in real shape and proper hiking sandals. A lady in flip flops fell and hurt her knee just before we descended. This is a REAL difficult descend. There are ropes when there are not steps. And it’s slippery even when sunny. I’m 52 and I did it without help but it took TEVA sandals, focus and some good legs. Bottom line: unbelievably beautiful. Go at sunrise!

    Amazing view
One of the best views on Nusa Penida (together with Klingking Beach and Broken Beach). Definitely worth a visit if you are visiting Nusa Penida. Don’t bother going anywhere else, besides the above mentioned.

Must visit if going to Nusa Penida.
Diamond beach is absolutely stunning. It is quite far from the harbour (which is where we stayed) about an hour from many places because the roads are limited. But it’s worth the drive. If guys have a motorbike the ride can get quite fun and adventurous. After you arrive you gotta pay 35k per person to get in, but it’s worth it because you get access to both Atuh beach and diamond beach. I wouldn’t reccomend swimming in diamond beach because the waves are huge, similar to kelingking. Atuh is much safer to swim in.

Do NOT swim at this beach. Strong current pulls people out and it is almost impossible to get back in. Witnessed 3 people very distressed and one man almost drown.

Fun walk down for some beautiful photos (however it isn’t the safest, some loose fencing and you have to climb down using a rope twice).

Great spot for some photos though.

Do not enter the sea here. We saw 2 men get dragged out by the current. The 2 men swam against the powerful rip for about 10-15 minutes. Luckily they both made it back to shore but it was a really close call. They would have both had to have been really strong swimmers to make it back, I know I wouldn’t have had the swimming ability to battle against the rip tide on that day.

The beach is really beautiful and worth a day trip to take some photos, but don’t get in the water.

I’ve given it 1 star so that hopefully the message about the water is noticed. The actual beach and the view from the top of the cliffs is lovely.

PLEASE DO NOT SWIM HERE. I am a capable swimmer but it did not matter. Me and many others in the few hours we visited got into real trouble with huge waves and riptides and I had only gone in up to my waist. I thought I was going to drown and probably would have done if not for the incredible men who came in to save us.
Wish I had seen the reviews before hand but there is not enough warning when you arrive.
A stunning beach and amazing views from the staircase but 1/5 to get the point across.

Lovely to look at from the top. And it looks safe with steps to go down. But the last bit is scary because there is a 5 metre section of vertical cliff with minimal footholds . There is a rope to hold onto while you rappel down and luckily it saved me from breaking my bones when i slipped on the last bit bcos no real foothold ( though i swung into the rockface and skinned my leg . You need to be really fit and not afraid of heights to use that rope to rappel down the to the beach . My guide said not to swim there because people get sucked out to sea in the riptides at high tide

Dangerous Rip Currents that quickly drag you out, be careful people have drowned here. Not worth the risk swimming here, even if you are an good swimmer.

Worth going to take beautiful pictures tho, but honestly you can get amazing shots from the staircase no need to go all the way done, the stairs also dangerous, especially if it is crowded.

What the blurbs don’t tell you is that access to Diamond Beach is via a stone staircase taking 20 mins. It is steep. There are areas were proper handrails are not in place. You should wear decent footwear, flip-flops are not recommended. You can’t go in the water now because two Malaysian tourists were swept out to sea in Dec 22 by fierce rip tide and drowned! There is a real lack of Tourist Information regarding access to this beach.

The scene is serene. It is very steep going down the beach, so if you are adventurous, you must get down because it is a whole new beach experience for me. The wave is so strong that it will get you wet and swimming is prohibited. It took me around 2 hours to hike down to the beach, take pictures, and hike back up.

Diamond beach is a must visit place to explore when in Nusa Penida. We hired a private driver to take us around the island and we stopped here first. The views are incredible and the climb down the stairs is such an adventure! Dress for the heat, wear proper athletic shoes and bring plenty of water!
