Must visit to get a chance to see India One Horned Rhino at close proximity. The weather was great. Once you get Nuer Kazirnaga while coming from Guwahati, the landscape is beautiful. Very well maintained and super clean. There are 2 kinds of safari - Elephant (Bagori range and Jeep Safari (4 ranges).

The elephant safari was excellent. Got a chance to see 5 rhinos during the safari at close quarters. Definitely go for it. We did Jeep Safari in Kohora range and got to see Wild Buffalo, Wild Elephant mother and baby as well as couple of rhinos. Elephant Safari lasts 1 hour and Jeep Safari about 2-3 hours. Need 1 day to complete both of these.

Not worth the time of 3 hours and 4000 bucks in Jeep and 2000 for elephant safari as there are no animals to be sighted except a few rhinos (less than 10) and water buffalos . It's a complete waste of time and over hyped tourist attraction just to fund the local Jeep wala for safari and torment the elephants in the name of safari

Early Morning Elephant Safari happens at two time slots and generally the tickets need to be pre booked in advance. The official cost is close to 1000 bucks but agents buy the tickets and sell them at higher price. It was my first time doing this kind of safari and it was pretty amazing. I loved the early morning nature vibes. I was able to spot one horned rhinos from very close. This Elephant Safari happens in Western Range of park which is 10-15 kms from Central Range. Central Range Kaziranga National Park Jeep Safari at Kaziranga can accommodate 5-6 people at a time and if you are less people you can go and club with other people. The total duration is of 2 hours. We were able to spot some wild birds, deers, iguana, chameleon & rhinos during the safari. Spotting wild animals like tigers and leopards depends on your luck most of the time. Cost for a jeep comes out be roughly 3000 bucks after all permits and taxes for Central Range.

For wildlife enthusiasts and photographers, Kaziranga is a dream come true. The park is the largest habitat for one-horned rhinos, and you can get remarkably close to them. Kaziranga is relatively accessible, with nearby airports and railway stations. It is about 5 to 6 hours journey from Guwahati.
The park is not only a biodiversity hotspot but also holds cultural significance. It is adjacent to the homeland of the Assamese people, and the park is a part of their cultural heritage. The park houses a diverse range of wildlife, including tigers, elephants, wild water buffalo, swamp deer, and countless bird species.

Visitors can explore Kaziranga through thrilling safaris, including jeep safaris and elephant safaris. Some zones within the park offer guided nature walks. When going on a safari, make sure to wear glasses and a mask to shield yourself from blowing sand. Carrying a handkerchief can also be helpful. There are no shops available inside the park, so it's advisable to carry essentials like water and snacks with you. Be prepared for limited restroom facilities, especially inside the park. Jeep safaris can be a bit expensive but are worth it. You can share the cost with a group of 5 or 6 people, would cost around Rs 3000. During the safari, it's important to stay inside the jeep for safety reasons. You are allowed to disembark only at designated spots. The guides and the people here are extremely helpful.
The Western zone boasts high animal density, including rhinos and elephants. The Central zone, while having fewer animals, is still beautiful.

November to April is the ideal time to explore Kaziranga Tiger Reserve. Visiting the Park during the early morning or sunset hours is highly recommended. The park is closed during the monsoon season (June to October) due to flooding. The permits are usually available at the park's entrance gates. It's advisable to check the current entry fees and regulations before planning your trip.

Kaziranga national park is a treasure trove of flora and fauna. The mighty one horn rhino might be the star of the lot, but the park is full of elephants, deers and different types of bird species. A must visit for kids and adults alike.

Kaziranga- elephant safari

If you want to experience riding a elephant, then you can definitely try the elephant safari. It is for a duration of 40 odd minutes and gets over pretty fast. You need to make sure that you make arrangements for the tickets the previous day. They are sold at around 7 pm. We made arrangements for it thru our driver. Drivers tend to have local contacts to be able to arrange the tickets. There is no online booking at present. Costs Rs 900 per adult. Elephant safari is done in the western zone of kaziranga national park. It was a good experience - we spotted a few rhinos during the safari and as it was our first experience of sighting a one horned rhino, it was truly special. Though, the safari is mostly on the exteriors of the jungle unlike the keep safari.

Kaziranga- Jeep Safari

This is for close to 1.5 hours and takes you to the interior of the jungle. Similar to the elephant safari, there are no online tickets here as yet- so pls do not fall for the multitude of websites one finds on google search of kaziranga national park! The jeep safari gives you excellent sightings of the one horned rhino, and different types of deers. My husband managed to spot a tiger as well and the rest of us missed it by a whisker.. we waited for some time hoping for the tiger to make an appearance again, but to no avail. But we got enough and more sightings of the one horned rhino- what kaziranga is really famous for! The jeep safari does get very very dusty due to many jeeps following one after the other, so ensure you cover your face well!

The park is typically closed during the monsoon season- as it gets tough to go to the interior of the jungle. So, pls do check this out with your hotel / resort.

Beautiful National
Park in Assam. You can go privately or in a tour. Even with a tour you can make it privately what will be easier to join the park. Your guide will go get the tickets and permits to drive i. The park so you just wait. We went at the beginning of November so as the Moonsoon season it is just ending not all the park is accessible, but was still worthy. We saw more than 30 Rhynos, a few elephants, loads of different species of birds. Also wild dear and well water buffalo. An experience that I will never forget. The park is getting yearly better as the government is helping the development of this and it should. Kaziranga it is the place with the most one horn rhynos in the world and they preserving is helping the animals to not get extict.

For a nature lover, this is heaven. You have everything - a beautiful setting, varied wildlife, good infrastructure in the form of hotels and safaris. We took five safaris in the four ranges, pls an elephant safari - so we got our fill! But every safari was different, there was something new and different. The best of the lot is the Burapahar Range. Its farthest from the tourist centers of Western and Central ranges, however that is exactly why it has the feel of a true wilderness, instead of a theme park. We were the only ones when we entered around 1:30 pm, and a forest ranger hopped into the jeep with us, because our safari-guide/jeep-driver was not very familiar with this range. Our wildlife viewing was the best here. A family of elephants, a sambar bull chasing a female, a rhino that charged our jeep, and finally a tiger in plain view, amongst other things.
