Being a UNESCO world heritage site park, my expectations were high which was my first mistake. We did two safaris in the park - a morning one in the western section and an afternoon one in the central section. Being early November, the grasses we're very high making it impossible to see animals in those areas. In the western section, we did see a few rhinos in the wetland areas, as well as some wild boar. A few deer here and there, but that's about it. I realize that seeing apex predators - like tigers - is sheer luck but I was disappointed that we didn't see much else. And, in both sections, the road system is an 'out and back' meaning you get to the end and then backtrack. With the popularity of this park, we were constantly passing other safari jeeps which really took away from the experience. We had also gone to Manas National Park and had a much better experience there. If you have to choose, pick Manas!!

Kaziranga is home to many wild animals, but the show stopper is definitely the one horned rhino and the tiger. While spotting a tiger is always a matter of luck, spotting a rhino is very easily possible here. Dor a much closer vire, i recommend the elephant safari which is a nice experience overall. One can go much deeper in the jungle with the jeep safari but I feel elephant safari gives a far better feel to the jungle.

Kaziranga national park is a well maintained heritage site. The journey to park was enjoyable with enough sign boards on both sides of road and speed monitors installed. Lot of focus on animals safety. We missed elephant Safari due to unavailability of elephants due to peak season. We did jeep sajari instead. This is undoubtedly the biggest , cleanest wild life park I had seen so far. There were so many water bodies for animals , lush greenery around. I could sense the comfort habitants would be in being here. A must visit !!

Set in a serene location, there are safaris at different times of the day. We chose the morning Jeep safari as the elephant safari was unavailable due to over booking. Comes close to 2.30 hours and was a great experience. Could spot quite a few animals. The hotels where you stay usually have tie ups that pick up and drop you there.

Avoid this overpriced, perversely restricted joke of a national park, especially if you are a birder.
First entry well after dawn - much reduced bird and animal activity.
Safari jeep drives are only 2 hours each (though the park is open in the morning from 7.30 to 12 noon).
Not enough time to stop and look at most mammals, let alone birds - even though there weren't many of either (mostly distant).
And little time was spent with even the closest and largest fauna. Hurried viewing with not enough time to appreciate and enjoy behaviour.
My main target was Finn's Weaver (unsurprisingly not seen) - we spent maybe 20 minutes max stopping and watching in suitable areas . Not that the non-english speaking driver made it clear whether or when or not we were actually at areas with previous sightings.
This was after leaving 80% of the birds I saw unidentified since I refrained from asking to stop for them in order to spend more time looking for the weaver.
Previous reports I had read online of doing relatively cheap safaris by sharing the cost of a jeep by joining a group were misleading or outdated.
With two other people it still cost c.$AU 50 for the 2 hour safari - and compulsory fees (entry, road, camera, etc) set a floor on the cost.
If each safari was cheap then maybe everything else could be tolerated.
I visited the central range - maybe the other ranges are better.

For all nature lovers atleast one visit to Kaziranga NP is a must. We did six safaris covering different zones of the park. Saw several Rhinos, elephant, water buffalo, hog deer, several species of migratory birds, raptors etc. at a close range. Also saw heard of swamp deer but at a distance.

Visited Kaziranga couple of times but I must admit that Borgos is the best resort. Helpful cum knowledgeable front desk staff (suggested us to visit Burapahar range where we spotted the majestic Tiger which is rare, rhinos from close range, water buffaloes, river dolphins, sambar etc.), great breakfast spread, beautiful ambience, well maintained gardens. I can go on and on...
Food at 'Juhal' is out of the place. I am a great fan of the Assamese thali. But the one you get here is fantastic. Each and every item tastes really yum. Pickles are prepared in house and will tickle your taste buds. The chefs Banamali & Tamu do a commendable job. Doing the service are young Jornel & Abhijit from Kakopathar who will make you feel at home. And we have Tulan who is from the vicinity has great local stories to tell..

Please ask for the Legend Mr Punen Gogoi for Jeep Safari. He is an actor, contractor, farmer, guide, businessman, wildlife expert who can make animal sounds and what not. Now he is 67 years old and heads the Safari Association. He was one of the first ones who started Jeep Safari at Kaziranga and knows the place in and out.

Place and people of Borgos - not to be missed if you are at Kaziranga!!!

Will definitely recommend that one takes the Elephant ride than the Jeep Safari.

There is a schedule for the visiting hours and sections and accordingly you can plan your trip.

You will most likely to site - Rhinos, Elephants, Water buffalo and sambar
